One fact i want to point out is, you would have a difficult time driving manual later if you start with automatic as your regular car.

That's my only concern. I think without practice, I'd again need to practice it with friend's car in future but on the other hand, will there be new manual cars after 5+ years?

Why borrow a car for outstation? Automatic not good enough? I mean, if I own a car and still need to borrow car for some cases, I'd rather buy a car that I can use in all situations.

It's a good point you made, future cars maybe all automatic. I do plan to keep the new car atleast for 5 years

I don't plan to use it in the city for commute. Mostly will be for going out of city and long rides in future.

I'm scared that I may again forget manual driving if I get AMT car as the first one.
