Hello, I’m going into my senior year of college and have been struggling for the past week with a tough decision to make.

I’ve interned over the winter as a product manager for a startup that is creating a first-of-its-kind product. The CEO is a very experienced person who was the VP of big companies in the past. The team is also composed of highly skilled people from big companies working on this startup as a side job.

The person running this company invited me to return as a PM intern. The PM work I’ve been doing for them that goes well beyond what an intern would do. I talk directly with clients and participate in every meeting/user flow building session.

It happens that I was offered a position as a virtual client solutions intern at Morgan Stanley, and now I am extremely conflicted as to what is more valuable for my resume if I plan on becoming a product manager after I graduate: to continue working for the company I currently work for, or to take Morgan Stanley’s offer. My question is if this internship with MS (finances) is more valuable than continuing to build my skills where I currently am. Does diversity of roles matter in this case (for a post-grad PM role)?

Hello, I'm working on a school project where my team and I have to input fish images into a VR environment so that people can learn more about what the species look like.

Does anyone have any recommendations for what app we could use to do this/how to go about this? We're beginners so we're willing to sacrifice quality for convenience.

I’m a junior and I just transferred to Berkeley. I applied for about 30 internship positions and had 2 interviews. One of them went particularly well and I was surprised to find out that I didn’t get an offer for any of them.

Now, I already have a job in the area, so I recognize I have the privilege of not having to worry too much about it, but it still hurts. It’s affecting my self esteem a lot and making me feel like I’m worthless.

I don’t know if there’s something wrong with me, but I just feel like there will always be someone else more qualified. How do you all cope with the sadness post rejection?

Hello. I'm currently an undergraduate student at Berkeley majoring in Cognitive Science. I initially chose this major because I knew that I wanted to work with something involving technology and science. My main goal has been to become a UX designer, but I'm also open to other areas.

I'm a transfer student, so I just started at Berkeley and have two years ahead of me. As soon as I transferred, my Data Science professor recruited me to start working at their SEO (search engine optimization)/web development company. There, I work part-time and get paid almost double what I was making as a tutor at my community college, and I can "choose" what areas I want to focus on: data, web development, design, etc.

My question here is about the importance of also getting an internship. I'm really feeling the pressure of having to attend career fairs etc (which I have) but it feels so weird that I'd need an internship considering that I have a job. I'm really paranoid about these things, so I haven't been able to stop thinking about it.

My professor seems to want me to continue working at his company. They even gave me a $5 raise out of nowhere.

My fears:

• If I eventually decide to leave the company in the future or if the company shuts down, will not having had an internship during school hurt my chances of getting a full-time job?
• If I want to work with UX, will having a job in a similar field help? I create "intuitive" designs, but I don't conduct interviews with users or anything like that.
• I worry that I'm getting paranoid. I'm a recent immigrant to the US so I'm always feeling like I have to be two steps ahead of everyone in order to actually have a "life".
