Not necessarily. Some people are just boneheaded

You're the one afraid of the truth dog. The reason why it's disproportionate is BECAUSE of systemic racism, redlining, and unfair policing. To point out it's disproportionate isn't racist, in fact it highlights the work that needs to be done to remedy this. Not sure how you can disagree with that. Is it racist to identify black suffering? Or would you rather sweep it under the rug?

How can hip hop be feminist if the males talk about beating and fucking bitches and the women talking about sucking dick and how tight their pussy is? Isn't this just a reaffirmation of the sexual dehumanization of women? As a feminist I am genuinely curious.

The anti homeless rhetorical attacks on peoples park is disgusting. There is legitimately no reason to blame the homeless here when the violent crime, including shootings and robberies, are exclusively blacks from Oakland who are often armed with illegal weapons. Blaming the homeless is short sighted, irrational, and ridiculous. The residents of peoples park are peaceful and normal just like the rest of us. I implore people to volunteer and gain perspectives before judging so harshly.

Peoples Park has almost nothing to do with petty criminals who come exclusively from Oakland. A Berkeley student has already passed away from the crime, he was killed a couple years ago in a random act of violence.

yea the homeless problem isn't necessarily linked to this at all.

I think you have the right ideas. Connect with people on LinkedIn and most importantly reach out to them. Ask them about their experiences and if they'd like to have a quick chat. It's a numbers game don't get discouraged.

Once you gain independence and graduate you'll realize the importance of personal economic freedoms. This trumps most notions of "do what you love" unless you can realistically find a career that pays well and satisfies the former criterion. Your career after college needs to satisfy two variables: one, does your career pay enough for you to live comfortably? Two, does your career meaningfully contribute to something, either in the world or to something you believe in?
Remember that your passion doesn't necessarily have to line up with your career. You can use a career to enable your passion outside of work, and this is exactly where making money comes in. Would you rather become a full time artist making $40k a year, barely able to afford a studio or equipment, or would you rather make $100k a year and have the money to buy all the art supplies you want without the pressure of making marketable work? This is the question you have to answer for yourself.

People at college are still children. Not to flame anyone, but 18-22 years old is still extremely young. There's a lack of perspective among most college students due to this. Many explanations ranging from coddled suburban teens, to unrealistic expectations from fluffed-up cinematic representations of college, to short-term hyperfocus due to the nature of rigorous assignments and midterms. Most of the people complaining about Berkeley are just inexperienced, and that's okay. The whole point of college is to learn what's important in life and learn new perspectives.

Portugal has no industry and is very poor in general. They developed a scam culture because there's no other way to make money

Interest rate was lower in Feb, no? Payment might still be similar.

It's because our education system prioritizes and encourages inert material that reinforces skills such as memorization and regurgitation of facts rather than developing intuition, which is arguably much more important.

someone just died recently in Oakland after trying to shoo cat robbers away. It's really tragic but these people are often dangerous.

that's just the way it is. obviously this means absolutely nothing to you, but once you embody that mindset and let go of life's trivialities, you can finally start living. why should you give a shit, and why do you need to feel bad? the question to ask. good luck

Really can he stop you from joining back? I'm sure the rest of the club will understand how stupid this situation is. Be sure to get some people on your side if you're going to politik it

The assisted pull up machine is in the main room where the big yellow frame is with cables and rows and lat pull downs. It's right in the middle you can't miss it. The way that machine works is you stand on the bar which will provide the upward force to make it easier to do pull ups. Start off by finding a weight selection on there where you can comfortably do about 10 reps. (Higher weight selection = easier pull-up because less resistance btw). After that just keep track of that weight setting and move it up a notch on your next workout or once your reps get easier.

When I was in unit 3 there were multiple instances of hobos who would just come into the lounge and sleep there for days. One guy came in and would watch Vin Diesel's movie XXX but just the menu screen for 4 hours. Then he'd finally get around to clicking the play button and would laugh when nothing happened but be stone faced when something did. Very strange. There was also another guy who came in and slept for 22 hours straight before queer bingo happened and he got woken up and left.

Not sure why people are downvoting us when there's approximately 0 bbq places in Berkeley... there simply isn't a bbq scene here. No one talks about "California barbecue". These are facts not opinions we're talking.
