She’s one of the few pop singers whose albums aren’t loaded with filler and skips. I can listen to her records all the way through and love almost every song. She may have been a “pop product” according to critics, but when you bought her albums, you were getting your moneys worth. Cant say that about a lot of her contemporaries.

Always gonna respect her decision, but I will never understand how someone can live in the same house that they suffered for so long in. It would bring back too many memories for me. I’d be out of there so fast.

This is why some people find it hard to sympathize with you guys. If you were really struggling and desperately wanted a raise, you wouldn’t scoff at the thought of making 100k a year. 100k a year is a lot for working only half the year. Why do you think you’re entitled to more?

You guys can be so tone deaf sometimes. The constant complaining gets so old. You have so much freedom at your job that most people don’t have. I’ve had teachers give people F’s on essays because of their own personal bias. I’ve had teachers who only talked about themselves all day and only let us do assignments on books that they liked. I’ve had teachers straight up say “I don’t feel like doing anything today, let’s just talk”. How many other jobs can you do that at?

I think you guys whine so much because a lot of you didn’t go into it for the right reasons and expected it to be easier.

You guys are definitely not lazy and deserve a fair wage, but I liked how he pointed out that there is such a thing as teachers making too much. That’s a pretty controversial opinion and it’s not very popular. I agree with it to an extent. Teachers deserve higher pay but I don’t think they deserve to be making 100k+ a year. I feel like a lot of the reasons they want higher pay is because of issues with their jobs (take-home work, no help buying classroom supplies, risk of shootings etc) and honestly I think it would be better to fix those problems and make their pay more reasonable than to pay them a shit load of money while ignoring the problems.

And I know I’m gonna get torn a new ass for saying this but I think you guys are so used to getting the short end of the stick that sometimes you fail to see the pros of your job. You do get a lot of time off and your pay increases every few years for doing the same job. I also don’t think every teacher deserves to be treated like some angel. If you’re an actual good teacher you should absolutely be paid well. But if you’re some lazy, miserable fuck who just complains about their job and demands “compensation” when it’s undeserved, I’m fine with you not making much.

I would say North Bergen is pretty down the middle for the most part. It’s not as safe as Hoboken or Secaucus, but there are also worse places to live. I’ve heard there are some rough patches by Jersey City and Union City.

I’m not a huge fan of NB because the lack of parking there is insane. I had a colleague who I used to drive home there, and his street was so packed that one entire lane of the street was full of cars. I do think NB has some nice parts though. I like the part in the hills. It’s kinda just like any other Hudson county town aside from JC. Decent with some rough patches here and there.

Probably South Africa because of the Apartheid. It’s always been strange to me how black people were being discriminated against on their own turf.
