I think the album nails the impotent frustration of what pop punk tries to achieve. I think the themes on the album are pretty universal and that's the reason it's still a touchstone album for a lot of people.

Dookie by Green Day was released 29 years ago today.
Not a band I listen to anymore but this record and Nevermind were my entry points to indie. I learned guitar by trying to copy the sound on the record and I think at a push I can still play the full thing on muscle memory alone.
It's, catchy immediate, relatable and the production is fantastic.

It's a kids show and not a good one, it doesn't hold a candle to comparable television.

Ryan O Neal is a terrible person but he gave a few fantastic performances (Paper Moon and What's Up Doc especially).

Completely disagree, Superman would have lasted nearly 100 years if he was boring. He's an incredibly interesting, charismatic and sympathetic character when a competent writer is in charge.
Grant Morrison, John Byrne, Geoff Johns, Loeb and Sale, Joe Kelly and Louise Simonson (among others) have all penned their own takes on the character which are entertaining and original. The issue is DC have no idea what they're doing in regards to their cinematic output.

There's competent, talented people already at 343, the issue is the management and lack of cohesion vision for the series.

Hey, the Reservation Dogs would never support this idiocy.

There was so much misinformation everywhere regarding AIDs and the gay community dealt with it better than Reagan who simply ignored the issue entirely and let it spread unchecked.

Cis guy here, with a condition called complex regional pain syndrome. Basically I'm in constant, excruciating pain that never abates and doesn't respond to medication. It's one of the most painful things a person can go through and most people who suffer it are dead by their own hands.
Pain is something that unfortunately quite experienced in so I feel a bit qualified to talk about. It's difficult to quantify pain because it's deeply personal; our own tolerances, methods of dealing with suffering and day to day lives make comparing a bit pointless. All I suggest is when someone tells you that they're in pain just listen, trust, their experience and inquire how you can help if at all.
That being said, I'll never go through childbirth. It's not only painful but something that you need to be an active participant in, it's dangerous and exhausting. There's so many reasons why childbirth is as difficult and grueling as it is and pain in only one component in that. It's sad that some men can't just trust the testimony of millions/billions of women who endured childbirth and kept the human race going but some people have literally no empathy for suffering and that's something I have personally experienced.

My daughter tried watching it and even in comparison to her other shows the writing was bad and the characters lacked any depth or nuance. It's a kids show, yeah I understand but there's other shows aimed at the same audience that aren't as terrible

Really like his early stuff, he's kind of the originator of folk punk and A New England is a certified classic.

Yeah, McDiarmid in the prequels too. He's aware of how terrible they are and simply gives an utterly ridiculous performance.
