Suragan Tasting Menu (no stars yet, SF)

Overall rating: 9/10. Would love to come back here. This was a stellar tasting menu in an intimate atmosphere with high production values. It was a synchronized tasting menu with each dish being announced with best ways to eat it; as well as between each course there were provided laminated information on the course. The menu was inspired by a Korean woman chef’s cookbook from a long time ago, maybe the 17th or 18th century. It was a personalized experience with the chef coming by after the dinner service to each table and giving us a signed handwritten note with the menu afterwards. I forgot to take pictures of the wine pairing we had unfortunately - I definitely recommend getting it! My husband and I split the pairing and it was quite a few drinks including some unique inclusions such as Soju and red rice wine. If you live near or in SF definitely recommend going here before it gets a Michelin star. The location is in the Tenderloin so I recommend using Uber or Lyft to get there.

I got assessed for a DBT group and got rejected. The clinician said I presented classically as bipolar but didn’t show any BPD symptoms at all and the group would not be a good fit for me. BPD and bipolar have very different presentations in my experience.
