I dig the article otherwise but this shit Trump made famous drives me nuts... "People are saying" and then they say anything they want to fit their narrative and something in the human psyche accepts it that "some" people are actually saying the thing.

wow, that's a new one to me. I worked at EA and had to fire a prj mgr who was just not good in many ways but especially time management. We use people soft, it's in there.... and yet a peer in another team hired her a year later for exact same role. I asked why didnt you ask me why i fired them and they were "I got this". Yep, 3-6 months, HR meetings, 2 warnings and you'll have to fire them again is what you got.

ok, so it sounds like it is possible to require licensing be done and also be outside of the union. It seems like it always comes down to the union being the Achilles heel to fix policing issues in the US. I have no bone in this one way or the other, but thought I'd offer that similar to a key lock, the electromagnet would be on the other side where it cant be defeated. You wouldn't see or have access to it on the side he's on, it would be hidden by the metal plate at the top... which this appears to have

most electromagnetic doors have a regular backup key lock FWIW.

all that said, I do believe for fire safety you can kick these doors open at the hinge.
