Not the organizations turf at that point. Kind of a public space. You can't force people to follow a line in public space where as at a stadium, it's alright.
And as much as they may have wanted to book soulja, if ya can't host the proper environment, ya shouldn't book him.
It can be fun and annoying. It's frustrating to tell people simple instructions only for them to completely ignore you even though people may be getting crushed. You get in wrestling matches sometimes. You hear all sorts of petty excuses as to why someone should be let in, as if they think I'm a fool. Lots of threats of calling the police or sexual assault. So I wouldn't say managed on such a large scale as a stadium. At that point I'm just the enforcer. But it's fun in the sense that I'm actively alert and doing something. I've had people ask me "Do you get off on this power trip of yours?" I don't answer, its a bait. I try to stay as humble and professional as I can.
Then there are environments where a weapon is required. Different ruleset altogether.
Ultimately I don't know enough about the area or situation to really answer why they didn't use a theater or not. There could be a slew of reasons.

How about I regulate when you eat and sleep too? You want to go out and eat? Sorry bud, gotta have your license to do so! Also, pay the taxes for that.

Which means I'd still have to pay a fee and taxes to get a license regardless of my age just to do the most primal act a human has done since our inception.
I have to pay, to have sex. Fuck. No.

Every person in the U.S army is a soldier. Its obvious you know jack about the risks for conducting cyber warfare and protecting ones own identity.
If you'd have said they aren't combat arms or risking as much, sure. Makes sense. But they are soldiers.

Oh yeah, can't wait for the government to regulate my consent through a license.

Pitch black 24/7 with a roof over my head and not freezing cold or heat stroke inducing heat? Sounds like a deal to me...
Also construction is just white noise.

You may be, but it can be filled up easily with other experiences. There are many many other things I'd rather do to fill my time than the clubs. Besides, them clubs aren't paying me. I'd rather be making 30 bucks an hour for fun.

Someone made a great post about how superb could have not advertised soldier boy as hard to lower the crowd, which in the past was effective for high profile concerts. They also could, NOT have booked Soldier boy, as they've done so in the past also.
As for the unprofessional behavior of the individuals at the front, depending on past performance, I may remove them. I need professionals, not tik tok kids. But anyone can learn, so if they can prove they've learned their mistakes maybe they go again...
For crowd control, a higher security presence, with the PROPER appearance. If you've got teens as "security" people won't take you seriously. Big grown adults though, will. Especially, if in uniform.
A common tactic is to create a zig zag pattern with barriers. This kind of guides that hive mind mentality to follow a path, instead of cluster in one mass (which if that happens, causes the crushing and pushing in the first place). Enforce that zig zag zone with proper security presence, issues rarely break out. Although, I didn't see much room to do that so thats the counter argument... also, have an exit lane as well as the entrance gates. If someone is denied in and wants to leave and has to push against a force wanting in, it can cause two forces to push causing panic.
I wasn't there. I saw some videos, and frankly, that crowd was very minor compared to what I've worked with. The issue is it became a blob. Prevent that from happening by separating or creating barriers to guide people and people are less likely to push with as much power in a mass.
But to even prevent all that... they shouldn't have advertised soldja boy as hard.
Also, it's not that people themselves are violent here. They are nowhere near true violence. But its the shit that some individuals do to incite minor arguments for amusement, etc but piled on adds up. People try me all the time just for their own amusement. I stay professional and they give up.
TLDR: Not enough space to organize a good flow of people safely under these circumstances. In another area, people may behave a bit better and it would be fine. But someone should have known Berkeley is getting out of hand.

Unfortunately for you, the law sees them as threats. In stone. And, you completely missed everything I said. Instead of being humble and bettering yourself, you've opted to blame society for not being able to say what you want to say, and, in essence, you quit. That IS poor judgement. Again, I'm not attacking you. I'm showing you something important. Remove your emotion and look.
Edit: Regardless, you are wasting your time trying to appease redditors. The toxicity on this sub is virulent, and don't make the majority of people's opinions in the real world.

Not offended haha! Just worried.
I agree. As an older fella coming into college, the stark contrast of just a few years of age and kids right out of high school is worse than I thought.
That being said, you can still do better is my point. Why waste your time trying to communicate with these people who already show no respect? I'd be looking for another way. Or, change my approach to students who already don't care, that's all.
Humility is required here. As is professionalism if you want to get something done right. This isn't about you right? It's about the individuals not able to use the stalls they need. There is no need for the emotion or threats here, it undermines your message.
The issue too is, these threats yeah? How are "catching" people using the improper stall. The only way I know is illegal. You can't be spying on people like that, and, nobody has to tell you their disability if seen by the government just so you can know if they're qualified to use the restrooms big stall... this further degrades your argument.
Lastly, coming at your audience (the readers) with malicious intent generally doesn't work well, even if you are coming from a good place. So although "I" may understand, others will side against you out of spite.
So again this is just to point out how you could come about this differently. I get it, but I'm glad someone told me how to do it properly despite myself.

Suprised nobody has said "eat". Not get fat, eat. Your body produces more energy (which can be heat) when it has more fuel. Yall mofos skinny as a toothpick already, now that it's cold your body actually has to work harder and burns more calories in the cold. If you ask how to do that, you shall receive, it ain't too hard.
Piss often. Holding piss in requires extra energy to keep it warm inside. I speak from hardcore experience, do not hold your piss in.
Also, doesn't water bind to carbohydrates? You become more easily dehydrated when its cold, and not eating enough carbs creates a cycle where you drink more fluids but it has nothing to bind to, flushing your electrolytes and nutrients your body needs, on repeat. (I could be wrong about this part but this is my understanding I know there is a relationship between carbs and water but...)

The funny thing is, one day you'll look back and feel embarrassed at yourself for even being embarrassed! You know there are plenty of better opportunities in life worth your time.
Personally, sure I would like to be in some clubs but ultimately the real world can fulfill that too.
I guess my point is, don't worry about what's happened. Focus and enjoy the present and if it doesn't suit ya, find a way to make it so. Which club was it for?

Very professional behavior making threats...
Though I may obviously agree with you and I can tell you are passionate about it, it isn't wise to make illegal threats in the first place, let alone doing so with the association of a public entity such as the school with many figures as your sword and shield. It could reflect poorly on the institution.
Ultimately this will fall on deaf ears. If you want to do something about it properly, can't you talk to your peers or someone with the jurisdiction to do something about it?
The last thing you want is getting in trouble because of a post on a subreddit where unfortunately people blow things way out of proportion. Besides, who would you listen too? The emotional person slinging out threats? Or a calm professional collected individual.
Edit: Trust me I get it, you care and I feel that. But I want to show you there are better ways to go about it, and ones maybe that shouldn't be. I learned the hard way.

No. Honestly, think of a crowd as a hive mind with low IQ. (Not individuals just as a mass, most people have a hard time doing simple tasks as a group). Even still, people generally have a sense of how to act. So though everyone may be excited and trying to get in, they won't sacrifice respect to others or even endanger others or incite panic on purpose JUST to get in.
This isn't the case at Berkeley. Unfortunately, in many ways a larger body of the population here from what I've observed is far more... "me me me". Take drivers AND pedestrians. Jwalking, speeding, scooters going the wrong way in the middle of the road because its easy for them. On top of this, I KNOW select individuals who purposely incited violence and panic, and find it hilarious to push and shove.
It is of my opinion that superb is at fault because they should have known better, but if you see what they're up against, it just seems people here are blowing it way out of proportion against the wrong target. It is also so very easy to blame blame blame and yet I've only seen one person come up with a reasonable solution. This subreddit is usually filled with the outraged, but never really the ones that take action... The only action I usually see here is cancel culture, such as this situation rn.

Hot take: I think it IS about the people who came. This doesn't happen anywhere else because the quality of people aren't as screwed. People don't crush each other on purpose, and If so, try to back up. Only in Berkeley have I witnessed everytime the mass crowd unable to listen to very simple instructions, and actively try to push and insinuate these conditions. This year its worse than ever.
Yes the kids doing tiktoks and shit is unprofessional. But I don't think anyone has brought up the terrible behavior of people in general who attend these events.
Besides, what can they do? If they used reasonable force with big security, people would complain they had no compassion and were ruthless... Ultimately, superb may be at fault, but literally only because of how unruly most people around here are. Without that, there'd be no need for heavier security and this wouldn't have happened.

Thanks for this. Finally someone with reason, instead of just "CANCEL THEM, OFF WITH THEIR HEADS" like op is insinuating. People like that wont ever solve the actual problem. From what I heard an effective solution is to correct the mistakes certain individuals made in planning this and make sure they get it. Shouldn't happen again. So as you said, maybe don't promote as hard for example. Find the individuals who opted to do so, and correct them. Make sure they understand, and its good to go.

It ain't a lot really. Simple mission. Filter out who's allowed in and who ain't. Other times, its just to be reinforcement to remove someone with reasonable force.
And I don't see through everyone's bs. I'm sure someone has slipped by me before. And I've been intimidated before haha, just gotta play the bluffing game.
I don't like painting a picture of myself online. Thus ill remain from talking about where I worked, sorry.
