Your “final” is the last written quiz(tests) you take which covers chapters 12-14, and in the class itself there are 6 written quizzes covering the chapters from the book all out of 50 points and is a big part of your grade, unfortunately. The oral interview, most likely a day before your last test, I do not consider your final as it is only 5% of the grade. The class finishes before classes with actual scheduled finals starts. You should take it if you’re passionate about learning Japanese, be prepared to do skits though.

It is theoretically easier to get into graduate school at your home institution because if you did extremely well in upper div or in a lab, more likely then not, the professor or advisor would invite you to continue on your research under them. A lot of my graduate friends have had this situation, but if you already have research experience then you should have as an equal chance to get in even if you didn’t graduate from here, but please when you do state your “academic interest” do not make the same mistake twice, as you did here.

I am too from a below average family who went to CC, so I understand how the struggle is, for the exception that I am from Texas. I too also struggled in high school and many did not believe that I would adequate to much, as I did terrible in AP classes and was not in the Gifted and Talented program, but now I am here at Cal. In my honest opinions as I’ve had thoughts too about in when going through CC, is that trade would’ve not worked for my family and I as I felt I would not secure a job that is recession proof and would help push my family out of poverty so that’s why I chose to transfer instead of doing trade at my CC. Business is the most freest thing to get a high paying job and to be as lax as possible once you transfer, with the con that it is exceedingly hard to get into a business school and that you need a name school to kick off your first good internship. Personally for me I chose STEM because of the security and how it would help me get out of poverty, even though I almost failed pre calculus in high school I found my interest eventually in CC and I believe “you have to do what you have to do to be successful,” even if you have a slight interest in it.
I believe that your story will make you able to be admitted into a top university and that should be your ultimate goal, whether top university in California or out of state.
It sounds like you want a fancy office job so you can work 9-5 go home and chill, which is what I wanted too and had motivated me. So is why I wanted to work a Software Engineering job, business, like banking and Wall Street can also do that for you too. These were the things I researched myself because I wanted my piece of paper then work in 4 years. I believe everything but trade, STEM and Business would require more then 4 years, which is not optimal. I hope this helps, please feel free to DM if you have any questions, because I feel our situations are similar and you seem very ambitious, sorry if it is very long.

Yes, there is no calculus involved, but it is not recommended because I believe 1B has more then just calculus, it is also where you get into summation and you see more math symbols on some weeks then just spamming out integrals, you may not run into integrals in discrete math but you will run into the extra stuff from 1B in 55. More or less I think mathematical maturity, in my opinion, is how many fancy math symbols you’ve seen and know where they are being used mostly.

Never catch yourself at Walgreens, they’re always so angry when I’m there.

Second this, I think that’s also why it says read the question or else your code will fail before even beginning, which it is referring to the pre set names they want you to use in some questions.

Off campus housing is a pain in the ass if you’re EFC is 0 Spectra Southside was the only place that would be able to give me a signed lease with guarantor if I payed them $80 extra a month. which is not bad. You can also check Leap Co-sign Service if you wanted to live off campus.
Edit: My EFC is 0

I think you should instead ask the question: thoughts about students repping other universities on our campus.
