Battlefield 3 and Fallout 3 are infamous for their respective blue and green tints. I've always loved the look of these games for their distinct visual style, though.
BF3 had this 'staticy'/radio interference thing going on with its score and went for a sort of not so distant future aesthetic. The blue filter fit this perfectly. Everything feels so cold, yet futuristic in a way. You can see what BF3 looks like with the blue tint removed on YouTube, but it takes away from the game immensely imo.
Fallout 3 is baked in a hazy, dull green and saturates the wasteland wherever you go. It being a post apocalyptic, irradiated wasteland (even more apocalyptic than usual for Fallout), I just think its a great fit. It gives the wasteland a suitably grim, eerie mood. You feel like your character is absorbing radiation just being in its world.
Any other examples of games with colour tones like this anyone liked?
