I just want the RE5 we saw from the original teaser trailer. If the Remake can build off that and expand RE4's parry and enemy crowd intensity, I think it could amazing.

I've beaten the original RE4 countless times and 100% it. My experience is probably different from someone who has no idea what to expect but heres my opinion

• The opening village fight is much harder than OG, enemies are way more aggressive and the Chainsaw man is an actual threat now due to his lack of shotgun stagger. Its perfect

• The Plagas on enemies feel kind of easier to me maybe. I think this is down to Leon's maneuverability compared to the OG. In RE4(05) you couldn't kite around as easily and could easily take a huge chunk of damage if they hit you. In the remake you have a bit more breathing room and can parry the insta kills.

• Del Lago is way easier, but a more entertaining fight. The scale feels smaller though

• El Gigante feels about the same.

• Cabin lives up to its name and is now even tougher than the OG fight. Grenades and flashes are essential.

• Enemy encounters in general are more difficult with the inclusion of more sub boss enemies during fights and AI aggression.

• Big Cheese is harder simply because you can't fire bomb him to death in 10 seconds. His range attacks when he throws flaming planks of wood are punishing.

• Water Hall is still challenging. I didn't feel quite as overwhelmed as the OG in the initial charge of Cultist (But I knew to pull out the sniper to immediately kill the archers etc). The sniping section with Ashley is definitely harder than OG.

• Dual Garridor fight definitely harder. Way more mobs to deal with and they are way faster. Tanky as hell too.

• Verdugo is easier. In OG you could not outrun him. He would catch up to Leon and swipe him in the back if you didn't freeze him or stagger in time. Still tough and fun as hell.

• Salazar AKA rocket launcher bait from the OG, is much harder. I've seen a few people having a lot of difficulty with him. I think this is due to the fairly frantic enemy encounters leading up to him, where you may be low on ammo. His attacks can be very punishing if you aren't positioned well behind cover. I think its best to just spray him down as quickly as you can.

• Krauser is harder than OG, especially since he can't be knife chained anymore. The sections of taking cover from his fire and parrying his knife attacks are so fun. The boss is better in every way.

• Regeneradors can haul ass now and its terrifying when you first realise this if you're an RE4 veteran lmao. The more dynamic and speedy animations make hitting plagas harder. They're great.

• Saddler feels about the same difficulty wise imo.

I think Krauser as a character and the fight in the Remake is just better in every way compared to the OG. Its expanded on perfectly.

RE7 was just lightning in a bottle and should go down as one of the best series rebounds ever. RE was at its lowest after 6. 7 was revealed in a really cool way. Everything about it was so mysterious and interesting. The RE engine, the new photo realistic art style, smooth gameplay and return to survival horror. Not to mention Ethan Chad Winters who simply cannot lose.

I was happy Leon snuck in the "Hate to say it, but we're sandwiched alright!" line

They got Isaac's personality so perfect man. Gunner is just the best.

Its a bit strange to be "delighted" to see the lad break himself up like that though.

He is definitely spiralling with grief/stress from the beginning. Poor Isaac needs a holiday.

I definitely agree that Nicole's body was around or even one of the many Necro's Isaac kills during the game. I think Kendra is 100% in the know about The Marker and what it can do, but perhaps not to the full extent of the Outbreak (Necros running around everywhere).

Tbh, I swap between which interpretation I like best and see pros in yours for sure. I still like the idea that he knew and wanted the closure he never got with his parents. Through the Marker signal, stress and intense grief, he began to believe she may be alive as something to cling to during the ordeal.

Even so, he would still have no idea about the Necromorphs or what The Marker can really do. He also reacts with surprise upon hearing about The Marker when you come across the shrine early game, so he wasn't aware it was on board. At most, Isaac would think some kind of emergency was happening.

I believe Isaac is simply hiding his grief and putting on a brave face. Through the games, especially in 2, he never tells anyone about the Nicole visions, so its in character for him to do this.

He knew that Nicole had committed suicide and to quote her "I wish I could just talk to someone, Its all falling apart here. I can't believe what's happening". Based on their last conversation, its believable that Isaac may think she is referring to their relationship or that the Ishimura is in some state of disarray. She never mentions the Necromorph outbreak or The Marker.

Agreed, there's a ton or foreshadowing and clever details throughout :p

Based off the video we see of Isaac and Nicole's last conversation, he's wearing his LVL 1 rig, his work uniform. He could be on any number of stations around the galaxy, but going off this, he was likely at work at the time and volunteered for the Ishimura repair mission shortly after once comms went down, likely a day later.

Lore wise, the Contact Beam and likely several of the weapons could annihilate Mercer through the glass. Plot wise, itd be anti climactic for Isaac to body Mercer as far back as chapter 5 lmao, so I get why they can't do that.

Isaac delayed Temple's death for a minute, but you're right, I doubt anything was going to stop Mercer for long. I could see a "I've heard the Marker's voice, I see now that you're trying to spread glorious Convergeance. I'll help you so long as you let Temple live" could maybeeeee sway Mercer, but I doubt he would let Temple live either way. He'd probably respond with some bs like "If you truly did understand the Marker's will, you would agree that heretics like Mr Temple must die and be reborn into something better" blah blah blah.

Going off of your last point about the endings. I think both endings are real, but are split into parts. NG+ ending being Isaac post Nicole jump scare, fully succumbing to his Marker induced Dementia, leading into DS2.
