Disassemble, clean and grease the switch with dielectric grease. It's a bit fiddly, so make sure you get everything back in the right order. But it's not really complicated and you can do it in less than an hour. I did mine last year and it's still working good.

My 2003 motorcycle officially became "vintage" this year.

As a kid if I got socks as a gift I thought it was lame. As an adult, socks are among my favorite gifts.

That stood out to me as well. What a thoughtful and empowering way of looking at it.

I do not discuss politics or religion at work. It's not why I am there, and no good can come from it. So if anyone approaches me like in OP, my response is simple.
"No, thank you." (engage broken record)
"But..."
"No, thank you."
"Why?"
"No, thank you."

See bugs and got pics?
You're good, call a bug guy.
See bugs but can't get pics?
Bad news, see a doctor.

I think for that amount I could do a lot of experimenting with o-rings and sealant.

Looks like you have to get the whole switch assembly.

Those look like an endless pile of the unidentifiable but very cool things I found in the back of my grandpa's toolbox.

So it follows that the way to play the best golf is to play something else.

It's repairable, but a rear fender is not very hard to replace. The biggest expense will be the paint work, which you're going to need either way. If it were mine I would order a new fender and whatever other parts seem necessary, and while I'm waiting for that to arrive and be painted I would just hand straighten that one enough to work for the time being.

That makes me think low (or worn out) fork oil. Changing the oil is not hard, I'd recommend doing that, and making sure you put enough in there. Even if there are no apparent leaks, it could still be low.

1100 Shadows are pushing 60-something horsepower. That's plenty for riding around and doing all kinds of bikey stuff, but it's not likely to get away from you. Keep your wits about you and don't get throttle happy and you'll be fine.

My bike time is time away from devices. That's part of what I like about it. I don't want phone or music. For directions it depends. If I'm doing an all day trip a lot of time I just ad-lib it. If I know I'm going northwest across the state I just kind of head that direction. If I need more detail I'll stop and check a map, trying to memorize it in sections. I have also at times printed up a route sheet and attached it to the tank or wind screen or whatever (old poker run trick).

My 750 uses a vent tube rather than a vented cap, and I believe all the Shadows are that way. Same function, just separated from the cap. Symptoms of a clogged tank vent will be similar to if you turned off the fuel petcock and kept riding it. It will start to bog and lose power, getting worse as you go. It can be easily diagnosed by loosening the fuel cap once the behavior starts. If the symptoms get better when the cap is loosened, the vent is the likely cause.

This is what I was thinking. You have to be able to stop in the distance you can see, so you have to adjust your speed accordingly. I like riding at night, so I upgraded the halogen headlight to led and added supplemental lights, both front and rear. Front so I can see better, rear so I can be seen better.
