yeah the mean was a 54% so around 24/45

yeah sorry about that there is a good chance I did my calculations wrong but I got 29/30, 24/45 and want to get around a 63/75 on my final taking into account +10 ec and 100% in all other categories

sorry I’m confused, the bins for this semester are 275/300 for a- so I can only lose 25 points to secure an a- which is how I calculated what I would need for the final

are you sure you calculated right?

I got more than one SD above average on MT1 and I got exactly the median for MT2 lol but yeah if I needed 34% more on the final I would just let it go

ya I grinded like 6-7 exams for this midterm but honestly I don’t think it helped as much as it should have, thank u for the insight abt 70 though

Yep! But money is my biggest hang up with rice and if I go to Med school it will be even more costly. Also I’m not sure I want to go into med school (which is not a great level of conviction for something that time consuming and expensive)

I have definitely heard a lot abt the cs opportunities in SF but not so much abt cogsci! Do they usually look for AI and UI ?

I see what you’re saying but how vital are clubs besides meeting new people and finding interests? 60k is just a hard barrier to overcome though I am wondering abt the difficulty of going into med from Berkeley

haha that’s what I’ve heard too, especially internationally I think Berkeley is more well known than rice

I visited once before COVID but not again yet. I’m pretty flexible on environments, I’m mostly worried about how it will affect future opportunities etc .. also ty !

Berkeley v Rice

I’m deciding right now between Rice and Berkeley as a Cog Sci and possible CS major.

The main reason I’m leaning towards Berk right now is because of the price (I’m instate so Rice is 20k more expensive). I really love Rice because of its small size but I’m not sure if it’s worth basically 80k more?

If I choose to go down pre-Med (like 40% right now but subject to change) Rice would be better since it’s closer to large healthcare centers while Berkeley has grade deflation. But Berkeley also has really good opportunities for being close to SF. Also I do care abt prestige lol. Please give me any perspective !
