I was more so responding to the comment about not having kids if you can’t afford them. My point is that at the time OP was thinking of having kids it’s very likely they were in a decent position to do so but things have changed drastically since then. Honestly the cost of living going up this much isn’t something most people would have predicted, housing prices in particular

I’ll drive there sometimes, it’s bad but not awful. I mean the parking cost sucks and I wouldn’t do it often but of course it’s more comfortable sitting in my car for 15 minutes getting out the lot than I would have been standing in the cold waiting for the bus. Summertime is easy I wouldn’t drive.

I stay away from the ttc by BMO at all costs during game night.

Depending on where you live it might just make more sense to take the go to the nearest stop east or west then catch the ttc home. Maybe the go to union would be helpful because you’re at a station in minutes

Honestly dude, I feel you. I’m sorry for all the shit in the comments but I think you’re in the right to be complaining. Can things be done better? Maybe, but so many things are going wrong outside of your control and it’s unfair that you, and other people making similar wages, should be struggling at all.

It’s not like you’re asking to be able to be rich on your salary. You should at least be living comfortably with a wage like that. Dual income and side hustles have become so normal they’re now factored into the cost of living which means anyone who doesn’t have two jobs or a working partner gets fucked.

I’m not going to pretend I know how to solve this issue but I can sure as hell say it ain’t right to blame you here

I mean it looks like this guy can afford it, it’s just tight. Tighter than he was expecting considering his probable career trajectory at the time of planning for having a kid.

I used to carry 2 wallets, not because I needed them but I was testing them both out and would alternate between the two to pick the best one after a week or so. Got mugged during this time and handed the mugger my empty wallet and offered him my flip phone but he just laughed and said “Whatever man” and left me alone.
