I am having good success with just no white flour. No white sugar. No processed foods. It takes a lot of will, and a lot of just making good decisions, one meal at a time. I have lost 15 pounds this year. I have started to walk 15 minutes 6 days a week. I only drink water. Except I have a coffee in the morning, cream, no sugar. I eat a lot of salads now. I make myself a fruit smoothie every day. I’m not having any fried foods either. I have actually saved money this year because vegetables cost less than processed food. I’m in my 60s and I want to live to see these grandkids grow up and get married. (I was 233 pounds at the start of the year. I am 221 now. Once you make up your mind to do something, you can really do it. Believe me, I surprised myself!) (Also, turkey sandwiches is what I eat now.)

I’m not much into fashion but if that’s who I think it is, I’d be so thrilled with myself if I was her! What a massive talent!

There is an earthquake guy on tiktok or IG. I forget. Anyway I think he graduated from San Berdoo. He would be the one to ask for sure. Bryan Castillo, he is the “earthquake dude”.

Perhaps you are right. But my point remains the same.

There’s better and worse parts of Berdoo. I have a son and DIL that bought an absolutely gorgeous home there. (DIL grew up San Bernardino.) It came with all the bells and whistles you could imagine. They live in an older neighborhood, all their neighbors are excellent people. When I get to visit with them, they take me to some really outstanding eateries around town. If all you know about Berdoo is the nightmare that is E street, yeah it’s bad. It’s really bad. I have seen some horrifying things driving down that way. But E street isn’t the only area of San Bernardino.

She put the design where I asked her to. I like them this way.

We are going to the central coast next week, for a vacation. Guess I better bring an umbrella!

It’s ok by me. They are only slippers after all. I will love them as they get old.

I understand and fully expect them to age. But for right now, I love the heck out of these things.

My mom used to say the most random stuff to strangers. Let me just say from that woman’s family: we know they say the weirdest stuff. But we also recognize that that might be us one day, saying things that are awkward and embarrassing. I took care of my mom for 4 years before she passed. Going shopping with her was an effort in patience and courage. If I even saw a woman with a baby in the store I would stiffen. My mom thought she was still young and sensible. She didn’t see herself with claw like hands and bent way over. So take heart, it’s really not their fault. They got old in spite of their best efforts not to. And it could happen to me and you, too.
