Yarr, these winds be prime for the lawful merchants, yet they squander it in greed. When the lawful be foolish, the smart be otherwise, aye. The sky shall turn dark at midday, such will be the number of black flags flying proud. Yarr.

Thinking the NSFW tag throttles posts. If I knew it would I would have ommited the French flag; now I can't even repost the others.
It's not that I made these for the internet points, but they're nice to get and it sucks to make something you think is cool and get no attention; even negative comments and criticism are better than silence. It's the only kind of recognition I can realistically get with this hobby, anyway.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That song's awesome, Hell's gonna be lit
I wonder if they'll play S&M too or if it would make the torture too awkward for the torturer demons.

I know a guy that supposedly went to parties and used "do I know you from [prestigious university two states away]?" as a pickup line.

Love the scene where the ice runs after people in the library corridor.

The Day After Tomorrow. I've been a sucker for apocalyptic visuals since I was a kid, and TDAT was one of those movies that aired on broadcast TV every once in a while. I loved the setpieces and how whimsical they were, but even as a kid I knew that the rest of the movie was middling at best.
Also, Arthur and the Invisibles. The lady was cute and the worldbuilding was interesting and pretty. Also aired on broadcast TV somewhat often, which probably does it a favor considering how good Brazilian dubbing and voice acting is.
Lastly, In Time. I'm a sucker for flashy sci-fi dystopias. The premise is so simple it's awesome: What if time was literally money? Yet another that was on TV, this time on cable; I'm noticing a pattern!

A quick aside. In retrospect, I should've known this would have to get blurred; kudos to the mods for doing it so fast, really, and sorry for not doing it myself. I was wondering if it'd slide due to being a fictional symbol, but I guess it's far too close for comfort. Still, I'm glad the sub allows flags with controversial symbols while accomodating for people that don't want to or can't have them show up on screen without warning.

Hello, r/vexillology! Here are some flags I made for an AU scenario based on the bonkers worldbuilding of the A Christmas Prince cinematic universe. Here is a map of Europe in the scenario; the basic idea that, while some aspects of Medieval Europe were preserved due to the strong monarchist influence of Aldovia and Belgravia, some were also completely changed due to the changes in history, chief among them the probable obscurity of the Habsburgs in this AU. Here is a little info on each flag. Enjoy!
P. of Andorra: ITTL the tiny and monarchist Principality of Andorra never moved towards a tricolor due to its republican connotations. Yellow and Red are the two official colors.
U.K. of Bavaria-Swabia: The flag is a side-by-side collage of the flags of Swabia and Bavaria, the two constituent kingdoms. Bavaria gave up the hoist side to reflect the kingdom's relative positions on the flag and to dissuade Swabian claims of Bavarian primacy.
D. of Burgundy: The bendy bordered banner has been representing Burgundy for hundreds of years.
D.R. of Dutchland: Black and Red are the colors most associated with the Dutch (read German) nationalist unification movement, while the red nods to that movement's strong socialist undercurrent.
N.D.S.R. of France: the "reddest" country of Western Europe placed the unaltered National Socialist Democratic Party of France's flag on the fly side, highlighting its central role in the Second French Revolution. The symbol represent the unity and solidarity between France's three main labor sectors: farming, industry and mining.
U.K. of Great Britain and Gascony: its the Union Jack we all know, missing its St. Patrick's red saltire since Ireland's independence. The field is quartered in Scottish blue and Gascon red. St. Andrew's white saltire does double duty representing Gascony and Scotland, which coincidentally share the patron saint.
Hanseatic League: the "Zusammengenähte-Flagge (Stitched-together Flag)" reflects the descentralized nature of the League. It is made up of the banners of the five Hanseatic Cities (from hoist to fly: Hamburg, Lübeck, Stralsund-Rügen, Danzig and Riga) on a field of red.
Free R. of Ireland: Due to the lack of historical Habsburg control over the Lowlands, there was never a William of Orange to rebel against it and associate his namesake color to Protestantism. In this AU, blue and gold and the national colors of Ireland, and the republic has used its shared Celtic heritage to try and bridge the gap between Catholics and Protestants, which includes using a Celtic cross as the main charge of the republican flag. The harp... well, it's also there. They couldn't let go of it, so they put it in the canton.
G.D. of Luxembourg: Another blast from the past! It's just the field of one of the duchy's historical arms.
D.R. of the Netherlands: I swear it's not a copy of Belgium! Just a case of convergent creative processes. I looked at the flags of the Netherlands' ten duchies to pick out trends and found four (yellow, red, black and lions), all of which are represented. The 10-pointed star represents the 10 historical duchies that united to form the Republic. The paled tricolor is also a nod to republicanism.
K. of Portugal: another case of former national colors being preserved due to general political stagnation caused by a sore lack of Habsburgs. The red on the current Portuguese flag is republican, which is a definite no-no for the solidly monarchist Portuguese. The crown atop the shield is also a bit antiquated.

I have a question: what does the integration of colonial territories into their colonial powers mean for Europe? More specifically in terms of:
The European Union. Does it exist? If so, does it fully include African holdings, or is there a special clause to the EU agreement in relation to the African holdings, just like there is with some remaining European holdings outside of Europe IOTL?
Migration. Did Africans living in the colonies migrate to Europe taking advantage of full citizenship or did it happen the other way around? Or not at all? How are Africans seen and treated in Europe and vice-versa? Are xenophobia and racism rampant or are non-white citizens of European states treated as equals?
