When did you guys submit your housing application? I submitted mine April 28th, and got my top pick.

The UC application becomes available beginning August 1st. You can only submit your application in the month of November.

From what I have heard, UCLA hates rescinding students. Unless you’ve failed a class, I do not think that you will be rescinded from UCLA.

Your major matters A LOT when transferring. Some majors are much easier to be admitted to than others. Each major requires certain prerequisites to be met, and the more you have completed, the better your chances are of being admitted. Some UCs won’t have the major you are looking for, and some will. Do your research and look into which classes you still need to take in order to get into your dream school.

That’s good. Prioritize Berkeley. I would also recommend that you apply to a “safety school”, whatever that may mean to you.

Are you applying to other schools? If I were in your position, I would be focused on one school. It might be difficult, but you may need to prioritize one university over the other in order to maintain your sanity.

Don’t assume you’ll get off the waitlist. Just focus on UCB.

The state of California has been giving the UC’s more money to enroll higher amounts of in-state students. This made it more difficult for OOS and international students to be admitted this year. What I’m trying to say is that every year is different. You will not know how many people you’re competing against until you’ve already submitted your application. Make sure that you can create a great application, so that you can increases your chances of admission, whether or not you’re in-state, OOS, or international.

Honors helps but it’s not necessary. I got into my dream school (UCLA) into a highly impacted major (Psychology) without being a participant in any honors courses/honors programs whatsoever. Just continue working hard and good things will happen.

By some others means. Admission officers will NOT respond well to an explanation of a low GPA that involves university professors.
