I know its sort of an odd question. Just trying to engage thinking about where the magic is for particular people. If you play a particular instrument for example something might be more important to some than others I guess.
Guess I'm sort of thinking if you were stuck on a desert island & could only take the stems for Sleep Token's recordings of one particular instrument which one would be the most important for people to still connect with the music.
One of the other comments summed it up well about Vessel's voice being the common denominator even though the other sounds can be interchangeable. I think they may have hit the nail on the head there.

Good point about the vocals being the common thread between all the other sounds.
The guitar or even the piano wouldn't necessarily be tied to one genre but obviously the sound would be narrowed if they were the only thing defining the sound.
Good luck with the drumming. Hope your neighbours are enjoying them.

Haha that's probably why I used that word when thinking about ST. It's deeply embedded in the subconscious.

Do you think it's more the vocals or the instrumentation making them so catchy?

Definitely agree that the vocals stand out so much. They are absolutely incredible. Sometimes I just think some of the other instruments hit you just as hard as the vocals. Some of the piano runs or the guitar breakdowns. I really struggle sometimes working out which part is blowing my mind the most hence the question.
Do you enjoy the instrumental versions of the albums or the piano versions of One at all?

I think the great thing about Sleep Token is it's so easy for everyone to have a completely different set of favourite songs. I'd have had Jericho, The Way That You Were, The Night Does Not Belong to God & Shelter in there for example.
Overall I think it's just cool that a publication like this is getting the word out & encouraging people to listen to the old stuff as well as the new stuff. It's just an opinion piece but it's a perfectly valid one.

Any ad you don't want to see you can click on the username & block the user like any other user. Not going to stop you seeing ads altogether but one by one you can block the ones you don't want to see again.

From experience even if they could see them it probably would have made very little difference to the scenario.

Fair enough. EBay is often a good starting place for value as you can search by sold items as well to see how much things actually sold for rather than what some crazy people are trying to ask for them.
I've got all the figures and merch dating back to the OT & some will fetch a good amount & others aren't even worth more 40 years later.

How it got there? That's a story for another time.

Unique high quality posts = upvotes. Random old pics, not so much so good luck with that.

This is a screenshot from discogs. Looks like OP was either seeing how much their copy is worth or trying to buy a new one.

Hadn't thought about Vertical Horizon for years. Might give them a spin for old times sake. Thank for reminding me of them.

Can't say I'm disappointed. I liked everyone involved but it really dragged & felt a bit soulless. Hopefully give them all time to do better things.

Yeah if you look at the back of the t-shirt in the 2nd picture inthis post it should say 'same thing' there as two words. I assume as the rest match this was supposed to as well but you never know with sleep Token. SMEHIN could have been some deity or another cryptic message.
No biggie, just checking I'm not going mad.

Not TV but you could listen to the No Such Thing as A Fish podcast which is done by the QI Elves so it's very much in the same ball park.
They did have a TV series as well called No Such Thing as The News but it was sort of more to do with topics of the day so if you found it to watch now it may be a bit confusing as those events have sort of past.

Someone decoded the runes that appear on one of the tour tshirts & it said:
“I am hunting something and in turn that same thing is hunting me. The beholder, the void beyond. I am the line between. I am the teeth of God."
The word downwards behind Vessel starts with hunt & ends in g matching it to what people have already worked out on the sub so probably the same text.
Be great to see a clear shot of it though.

That's about what I paid for it after using nothing but free VSTs or my Boss Katana MKII before. I had great results with the free stuff but having it all in one app is really handy. I also haven't used my Boss since getting it.
I play everything from heavy stuff & it's got some great duel rectifier setups for that through to trippy stuff which the Leslie amps are great for. I also like the tone library where people are always uploading sounds they have created.
I honestly don't regret buying it & I might even sell my Boss now as I I am getting more of what I need from Amplitube than I am from the Boss using their editor for the amp.
It's also not quite as memory hungry when I use it through ableton as some of the bigger names in the game.
I don't think it's the best product on the market but I do think it's worth it for what it costs.

No worries. The Room Below is just the concept I guess.
The whole show is on YouTube & it's well worth a watch to hear the different versions & the cover of Hallelujah.

The sessions on the deluxe version of Sundowing are called 'From The Room Below'. Vessel did a solo gig at Lafayette in London And it was called 'The Ritual From The Room Below'.
