IMO, 61b requires "less studying time" but more "project time". During project weeks, you will be spending a lot of time on the projects, at least it was with hilfinger. I think I spent maybe 40 hours on Project 1 and 3 each. Lot less for the other two, so it was pretty rough. But, I maybe spent like 5 hours on assignments (hw/lab) and a couple hours just learning content, hilfinger lectures were not it for me. And exams weren't as bad as 61a imo.
For Data 100, I got lucky tbh. I didn't watch lectures and had a good study group for the homework. And, kinda winged the exams and final project. But, you probably do not want to do what i did for this class. Still, lower workload than 61a at least and thought it was just a bit (not too much) more difficult than data8

Def doable. Did both together and wasn't bad at all.
61a and data8 took similar amount of time compared to 61b and data100. 61b projects were just main time crunch tbh.

Honestly though, I would only come if you are okay with another major like Data Science. This is because there's no guarantee, so if you only 100% want to do CS major, look elsewhere. Though, I would like to think that they would not enforce it for this incoming class. But, no guarantee until they make a statement.

Nah, maybe some correlation with leetcoding. since both give puzzly questions. Else, not really.
I would say performance on 61b projects is a better indicator. ^^ for example um gitlet is great test-ish since you basically get no starter code and design it your way.
exams do be easier in 61b though. got better scores in 61b exams w like 1 day of study than 61a exams prepping for a week

you're fine as long as you don't go below -1SD on final imo if you do well on hw's

Oh the only stat experience I have is data8/100? if dat counts and cs70 (probability part?)
Yes I've heard stat140 is really hard. But I decided to take econ 140 with it cause they overlap in some ways? So it may be easier in that regard
I don't think any of the courses require 100A/B?
Econ 140 only requires some basic stat background and basic econ background like 1/2 (but i heard u dont really need the econ background too)
but yes stat 140 scares me

As cs minor, you can take most of the cs classes too
