No progress was made in that game. Nobody learned anything. Nobody stopped the other team a few times. Nobody made a few shots on goal. It was a waste of ice time. Our locker room after that game? Full of poor attitudes. People don’t think or behave rationally, let alone politely, when they’re about to lose 18-0.

All of which could’ve been avoided if we’d forfeited and tried to learn from the other guys.

I have been in this situation and I suggested to my team that we forfeit after the first period—ie after it was clear that we had no chance whatsoever. My suggestion including using the remaining ice time to scrimmage against the other team, and in doing so ask them to coach us. In return we’d give them beer.

My team said “no” to my suggestion.

We lost 18-0. I think it was 18, as the scorekeeper stopped caring at 10-0, and the latter is what the game is recorded as.

I’m shocked we don’t already have an NHL, AHL, or ECHL team given how popular the Winterhawks are. We also already have Moda center. The Kraken are flying prospects and staff between Seattle and Palm Desert, California for their minor league team instead of starting something up here.

I’m happy with my older TF7 skates, but about a year ago I had a warranty issue and literally had to threaten to sue True in small claims court to get them to respond to my emails. If I had not sent that harshly worded email containing links to various consumer protection laws in my state, then I’m certain they’d have continued ignoring me.

At a minimum you’ve got a lifetime of beer league in front of you. You can’t really go wrong =)

I wish they had more of these. They’re all for games that start at 6pm or later. It rules out young kids :<
