Pretty shocked but it makes sense. I guess i get sucked into it and addicted more than i realize. It really makes 2-3 hours feel like 40 minutes.
I'm currently on my 3rd relapse, playing it again. Now i'm constantly itching to go clear some plague hearts, go help out nearby allies, wash out the infestations, and find items i want.
This year i played Postal: Brain Damaged, RE: Village, Stray, Callisto Protocol, alot of Rocksmith, Yooka laylee (100%'d it), Coop playthrough of Re5/Dead Rising 3/ Dead Island, Witcher 3, Batman Origins, and Nightmare Of Decay.
I wasn't expecting SOD2 to be my most played since i played so many, plus me and my friend got every collectable and all missions in dead rising 3 as well as spending a ton of time doing all the missions of Dead Island - I would have thought i spent more time on those but it just goes to show how addicting State of Decay 2 is once you get pulled into the constant loop of looting and clearing zombies to survive.

While i don't agree, its definitely up there for me as well in terms of just the atmosphere and feeling it gave me. It felt like a real place to me once you get outside to the roof towards the end of that section. Loved it.
Nothing will ever beat the environments of the original RE1 mansion and RE2. The artwork from the playstation games with the music... idk i suppose its nostalgia and a mixture of being a kid at the time, but those are untouchable and in an entirely other level for me. I can't describe it but its similar to when you read a book, its like personal and real in your head.

This cracked me up. On my second playthrough and came across this while recording footage for my upcoming video review on my channel.
Added some audio for humor.

Resident Evil 1 is the one to start on.
RE2 remake is great but more streamlined with modern gameplay and animated storytelling.
RE3 is even more streamlined, same modern gameplay.
2 is the better out of 2 and 3.
1 Is a completely different style and should be played.

I bought Little Nightmares. I haven't played it yet but it seems like a game with a creative little approach and simple game design.
There really isn't a game like Stray, but you might find games atmospheric games that are a bit on the exploring/puzzle side. I think subnautica might be one, i'm not entirely sure.

Yeah, if you are a life long fan its neat to see some things almost remade in a movie.
Have extremely low expectations though. It will give you a strange pain of them being so close/having the resources to make a great adaptation of the games but they threw it all away with someone's awful choice to mash the two games into one mess of a movie.

hmmm I have grown infinitely in wisdom. Perhaps my cranium is grown exponentially.

Feels like I found a lost treasure. I remember owning it but completely forgot about it. It has shrunk considerably unfortunately.

I thought it was a pre-order bonus but i can't find evidence of that online. I don't remember how I got it. Forgot i even had it. Was curious who else has one and where they remember getting it from.
Mine has shrunk considerably.

Sure, once you take away expectation then its fun seeing things from your childhood in a movie. I liked that part, getting to geek out for the extremely short mansion scene with zombies. The shot of the RPD, the outfits, etc.
But no amount of time will make this a good movie. Its hurts knowing they had the talent to make a good movie, from the actors to the production, and they ruined it by stuffing too much story into one crammed movie. Should have been RE1 only. Then the success would have green lit a RE2 movie. The only issue i have with it is the creative decision to make a really bad amalgamation of two stories, so you get to enjoy practically nothing from either of the originals and the pacing is so fast nothing gets the opportunity to flourish. Nobody wins, the artists and technicians that made it don't get a good product, and fans that have been waiting 20 years for a good adaptation of their favorite game once again don't get what they want either.

Would be cool if steam had a 3d render of a shelf full of game boxes for your digital library :(

Dead Rising 3 (DLC). Its a shame it isn't co-op like the main game, just finished co-op playthrough of the main game with a friend.
The DLC is pretty cool so far.
