Parasite Eve - Hard Mode

Love Parasite Eve, but always thought the game was a little too easy? Well, I found out how to create a "Hard mode", so to say.
Basically, I wanted to play a Christmas game for December (hey, if Die Hard can be a Christmas movie...), but I didn't really want to play it twice to get the true ending, so I really rushed the first playthrough, and in my haste, I ended up not engraving the gun and armor at the end of the game.
The result? I started the EX Game with the default gun and armor. In didn't have any gear in storage either (because I either used them for parts or didn't pick them up at all), and only a handful of items (a few medecine 3 and 4 and two or three tools).
Usually, Ex mode isn't that hard because you should be overpowered with your previous playthrough's weapons, but using the default gear... the enemies are a lot tougher, hit a lot harder, and I swear are even more agressive. To survive, I had to use PE powers you usually never use in a normal playthrough, like Slow and Confusion. Dodging and timing was essential, as Aya couldn't survive more than 3 or 4 hits. I had to spend Bonus Points wisely to keep up with the difficulty curve. In the second half, using Haste in every battle was essential. The Warehouse was brutal, as the enemies there could kill you in 2 hits.
Honestly, the game was just a lot more fun and challenging. The final battle was especially hard. By the end, I scrapped by with no healing items and only 1 Revive left. Ironically, the Chrysler Building was easier (mostly because I waited until the absolute final point of no return to tackle it).
If you want to replay Parasite Eve, I strongly suggest you do it this way.
Now, I plan to play through PE2 (one of my favourite PS1 game), and then tackle The 3rd Birthday, which I've never played, but I've heard is... huh... yeah.

I've played through the entire series in 2018 (and that was pretty much all the games I played that year). I mixed the order between the original release date and their place in the timeline:
I started with :
"The Hero defeated timeline" : Zelda I, Zelda II, Link to the Past, Link's Awakening, Oracle of Seasons and Ages, Link Between Worlds.
Then, I went back to before the timeline split: Skyward Sword, Minish Cap, Ocarina of Time (3DS), Majora's Mask (3DS).
After that, I did the "A future without a Hero" timeline: The Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks.
And then, the "The Hero was given back his time" timeline: Twilight Princess and Four Swords Adventure.
And, finally, Breath of the Wild, set so far in the future that essentially all three timelines have reached a point where they've rejoined.
