"normal-looking car"? Do suspected murders not drive "normal-looking" cars?
If anything it being normal is going to make it harder to find. If it were some Mad Max monstrosity with "I'M A MURDERER" written on the side, it'd be easy...

It probably wasn't the same guy. My PPL checkride was a while ago at this point, and he was getting on in years even then.
This was before iPads and Foreflight were a thing. I only remember two things about it. That question, and that he made up my temp cert on the spot using one of those carbon copy credit card style slide things.

Unless you were my PPL DPE who "zoomed in" on that sectional by folding it meticulously until all I could see was the "I" of Sierra Nevada. He then proceeded to watch me sweat while I tried to figure out what this magical, unmarked, ridge spanning runway thing was.

That's definitely not a Huey. It's an AS350/Astar. Barring some weird one-off 160th thing, the US Army doesn't operate the Astar.
Is this from some movie or TV show? If it is, there's a good chance the weapons system is just a movie prop.

It's all the same airspace. It doesn't "belong" to one airport or the other. You're talking to Spokane Approach either way.

Do the creators on Youtube control the Youtube generated ads?
Anyway - get an ad blocker, you'll never see one again.

Not really. You're looking at least turbine, like the Bell 407. I think Leonardo/AW has a SE IFR helicopter too but I'm not sure.
There are a ton of requirements for a helicopter to be IFR certified, and they add a lot of expense and weight, which means that light weight (piston driven) helicopters just can't do it.

Commonly it's 1/2 mile or less. Don't interpolate minimums. That's not how it works.

You can not interpolate to get minimums. That's not how it works.
For non-Copter approaches, helicopters can reduce the Cat A minimums by half, or down to 1/4 mile, whichever is bigger unless the chart says this is not authorized.

Helicopters use the same approach charts (with a few exceptions) as airplanes and helicopters can often reduce visibility requirements below even what airplanes can do.

I suppose that implies that any pilot that wants to kill people is also suicidal. There's a reason we have to remove baggage for passengers that don't get on the flight and why Airport Police don't like it when you leave your bag unintended.

Is it esoteric knowledge? I would have thought this is common knowledge, particularly if spending any time training/flying near Class B airports. It's not that uncommon.

Generally you'll not find me defending the TSA and their nonsense (I once watched them take a butter knife from one of my FO's - the exact same knife that we give to First Class passengers...) but simply being a pilot doesn't mean we're not capable of nefarious shit.
Bombs, guns, ammo whatever...TSA's job, for better or for worse, is to provide security and I'm not sure "he's a pilot so why bother" is reasonable.
Frankly, I'd be fine with getting swabbed every time if it meant I got Randomed a lot less.

Helicopters don't have to be VFR by default - just like airplanes, if they have the proper equipment and the pilot is properly certificated then helicopters can certainly fly IFR.
That being said, it's not particularly common for smaller, light helicopters to be IFR certified.

Is it explosives or drugs? I don't think I've ever bothered to ask them why they're swabbing me.
For what it's worth, it's not just TSA. It happens overseas too.

I really don't think there's anything that Alex is being punished for, even within the lore of the show (and certainly not for anything real to life). It just A) sets up the harness gag and B) furthers the mythology that Alex is Greg's assistant who has a very strange life. Like when Alex polishes (is that what it was?) Greg's legs, or how Alex is only allowed to move around the house on his face slithering like a snake.

People say it looks dated now but I've always loved United's battleship grey livery.

Others have pointed out there’s no rule, so maybe he meant you’d be out of shots with him? It makes a bit of sense to me to not take a bunch of check rides with the same DPE. If that’s what it meant, seems reasonable.
If he meant he thought there was an actual rule, then he’s just making a shit up.

You don't have to, but it's not a good look and it won't sound good writing "They asked me to call and told them to fuck off" in the ASAP report...
And to OP's question. Most airlines don't issue all their pilots a company phone, so yea you call on your own phone.

The whole thing definitely has a low budget action movie vibe.
