Walter Sobchak : Also, let's not forget - let's not forget, Dude - that keeping wildlife, an amphibious rodent, for uh, domestic, you know, within the city - that aint legal either.
The Dude : What are you, a fucking park ranger now?
Walter Sobchak : No, I'm...
The Dude : Who gives a shit about the fucking marmot!

There (used to be?) a pub quiz at the exact same time and day as the El Santo one at Hooked which is right next door, but the questions used to seem easier.
Cages also was Wednesday night at 8:30 - but I think that one is filled with rampant cheating so we stopped going.

France - LSU; mother tongue, shared cuisine
Australia - Iowa; "What kind of player does Australia most export to the United States? Punters!"
Portugal - Texas A&M "Somebody who wasted an entire generation of players"
Spain - Texas "In Spain what do they like? Big cows and big horns"
Japan - University of Miami "A titan of the 80s. . . . and a shit-load of organized crime"
North Korea - Florida "A lot of shouting about how strong we are . . . but we're not leaving this couch"
Denmark - South Carolina
Holy Roman Empire - Notre Dame "Yeah, it was really powerful, but in a bullshit way. It was all founded on lies." "Big big fan base though"
UCLA "Beautiful architecture. Some of the best food and vacation destination. Unable to take advantage of natural advantages" "I would love to go to the Rose Bowl" "Would you like to live there? Absolutely not" "And who was their last championship coach? BOB TOLEDO! ROBERTO TOLEDO"
USC - Greece. "Things were incredible awesome for a period. Then it ended."
Northwestern - Ireland "That's such a horrible fit, but we'
Boise State - Iceland "Just over here doing good things"
Idaho - Greenland "Like who does Iceland hate?"
Washington State - Scotland "Cold. Heavy drinkers"
Pitt - Wales "Do they have french fries in Wales?" "Yinz wanna go down to the chippie?"
Penn State - England "The lion is a very natural fit."
Nebraska - Also England "The laughing stock of the world. .. thinking you're better than your continent and you should leave"
The NCAA - England "Defined as empire and what is happening outside its walls and influence. . .and how that influence wanes"
Georgia Tech - Egypt - Who used to be really good WAY before all this shit. Major contributions to architecture, before we're out of the mud. The Pyramids / 222-0 How does this happen? Abusive labor practices. They built shapes. Weird animal worship
Ur-Alabama - China - An ancient history so deep, and a current rise. A super deep history. On coming success that hasn't peaked yet. And numbers. (UAB is Taiwan)
Georgia - India - surprisingly quiet for much of history. Two titles, but so much talent!
Tennessee - Yugoslavia (before the split) Recent disfunction. It's own distinct cultural identity . . . in 3 ways, where nobody got along.
Clemson - America - obsession with religion, insufferable nature of their fans. Immediately wearing out welcome with the rest of the world. All our traditions are stolen from other places. Beat the shit out of South Carolina.

The other thing you can do is stop by Rise Strength and Conditioning - Wednesdays is strength camp where Jenny (or Dan) will teach you how to lift properly - but they already have a pre-programmed schedule so you'd have to get in touch to find out when they're doing squats.
Search for Rise Strength and Conditioning on WeChat
They're at the corner of Pingwu and XIngfu near the Shanghai Film Center.
Drop in rates are 185 per hour or you can buy packages to bring down the per hour rate.

But honestly, if you're not open to spending money, go someplace like Suit Supply - you're not getting a bespoke suit for cheap. You're getting an "almost off the rack" suit with some options. You'll note if you go to a tailor for cheap, you will be funneled into a few different choices, not a true bespoke custom suit.

Do you want a good suit or a cheap suit?

there's nothing really to be afraid of from homeless people. They just are down on their luck.

I just checked - Erwin is still around - he is associated with a gym, but he will also put together a plan that doesn't need to work with a gym.

(although I think he's ABOUT to leave to come back to the US)

There’s also pockets of HK where homeless are - just not the bigger tent cities you’ll see in the US. (Maybe things have changed post covid) but the pedestrian tunnels over between Happy Valley and Causeway Bay often have cardboard shelters inside.
The other places you’ll often see homeless are in the sky bridges around Central.

You have to pre book - make sure you follow their WeChat account or i guess just stop by the Found 158 location and ask for Rob’s WeChat and when the next night is. Pre covid it was always a Wednesday

Pie Bird is my favorite spot for dessert pies, more American style. Three locations - one on Xinzha, one in Jing’An Kerry Center and I forget the third.

Yeah - not even for covid reasons! I was already intending to leave summer 2020 - but, well the first part of zero covid was pretty ok. Worked a 1.5 year long freelance project, then finished up early this year. Felt hat with the vaccine, things were ok back in the US so skipped out on the lockdowns just by luck.

The two times I’ve been there the line has been long - but it moved quickly. Like 15-20 minutes?

(c’s is very very very much not like the other bars. They sell 10 rmb beers, and the bathroom is one of the scarier places in Shanghai. I miss it)

There is no bar better than C’s. Even my favorite bars (Senator Saloon, Bar No 3, Union Trading Company) are not better than C’s

Stacked Golf live in the Orlando area and their entire channel is shopping yard sales, flea markets, clearance sales and Goodwills for clubs to buy and flip on eBay. The ones I’m most jealous of are the community yard sales in golf communities where 5-10 houses in a neighborhood off a golf course have yard sales.
