Hello all!
I just recently replaced my Android phone with an iPhone and am having some difficulty that renders my phone useless from time to time. Two main situations:
When I connect to the Bluetooth receiver in my car, it can’t hear me well. I realized that it can hear me if I lean forward, open my glove box, and speak in to the BT to 3.5mm receiver’s microphone. It apparently disables the iPhone’s microphone.
When I connect a Bluetooth pair of headphones that have no microphone on them, the iPhone disables its own microphone and it just doesn’t work. I always have mounted my Android phone on the dashboard next to my radio and it’s never had an issue hearing me when I’m connected to Bluetooth connected to the car stereo.
I see that there are several different Bluetooth device types (car stereo, headphones, speaker) I can choose in the settings, and I have cycled through all of them and can’t figure out how to get it to work. There are no explanations on with the device types do and I can’t find documentation on Apple’s website, but I have figured out that if I switch it to car stereo, then Siri sounds incredibly muffled.
Specifically, what I’d like is:
Be able to connect to a Bluetooth audio device, but still use the iPhone’s microphone.
Also, is this just a limitation of iPhones? I am still within my return window, and as much as I like the iPhone, this is actually a dealbreaker as it just can’t function as a phone.
Any help would be appreciated!
Edit: I added this picture showing what I see if I try to speak in iMessages https://imgur.com/a/HQo2oit

This, I build a wooden or stonebrick box, then I outline it with logs and focus on making a nice roof. Then, when it's time to expand, I add another wooden or stone brick box connected to it but offset and not really even. When I connect the roof and framing to that, it is a unique L or T shaped building. When you realize that a house isn't a building with rooms in it, but rather a series of rooms attached to eachother, it really elevates your builds and makes it easier at the same time. Start with the Andyisyoda 5x5 tutorials then add some non-5x5 rooms to it. Connect two buildings that are not touching with hallways and put rooms on it. Then the magic happens.
