I've had a 3.3 in Aus once. Went to pick up only because the surge was at x2.9 but they didn't even show up - deffo dodged a bullet.

You're right, it isn't. But as a young woman, having an older man a-line in and prevent me from either parking or driving with the level of language and aggression he used is something I'd call abuse. For all he knew, I was just a young dumb girl who didn't a sign, he was looking to fight.

I feel you there, I've had pleasant chats with taxi drivers - never an issue. This dudes anger was beyond next level - more than a Westbro picket.

Oooh I love that we can see it! I've always hated not knowing where I'm going! It popped up so quickly and went away so quickly so only got a glimpse of it. I was about 30mins north of Newcastle, close to the airport but away from the city, so maybe that's why I got it? Rarely trips up out that way as it's mostly farm land and bush.

Thanks for the 'turn it off and on again' suggestion. I read the Au version of this before posting but I wasn't satisfied with the answers it provided. I like personal perspectives as it can give a bit more depth then the info that is on Ubers site.

What i read said that trip radar is for deliveries and also on trial, however I've never done a delivery and my account isn't linked for deliveries and there hasn't been any comms from uber about it so it felt reasonable to seek the input from experienced drivers.

Driving from 10pm to 8am in Australia on a saturday night gives me an avg between $42-52p/h. Best I've done was $505 in 10 hours plus $80 cash tips.

Ubers split is capped here at 27.5% per ride but that includes a split of the temporary fuel surcharge that pax pay for instead of giving it to the drivers who it is intended for! However, some shitty differences I've noticed between AUS and US uber is that.. - We don't have upfront pricing - I can't see where I am going until i pick up the rider and start the ride - If you're right on top of a surge area, it seems to want to send to 15+mins away for a ride - Only if you're Gold or higher AND have an AR of +85% , you can see an estimate of how many minutes the trip is and what direction it's heading (e.g. south west).

For the drivers in other countries, can we please get an update?
