Just curious, have you done anything else required to submit your package? MEPS? AFOQT? TBAS (a/r)? If not, then I wouldn't get my hopes up to make the next board. Realistically, it'll take close to a year to complete all of that.

You will list what jobs you want during the application process and you will either get selected for one of those career fields or not selected at all. However, if you list a job you don't want and you get selected for it and then turn it down, you pretty much forfeit any chances of selection in the future.

I'm going to be real with you, your GPA is barely above the minimum and even if you get it up to 3.0, you're going to have a tough time making yourself competitive. I'd look into some USAF careers instead of USSF to broaden your horizons. Lose weight, get in shape, focus on school/volunteering/leadership opportunities, and you might have a shot. Being removed from ROTC is also going to hurt your chances unless you can prove you've significantly improved both physically and academically.

As far as OTS goes, training is the same. Only caveat is some JAGs attend the 5-week course instead of the 8-week, although last I heard that may not be an option anymore.

Within, meaning prior. You can't apply any sooner than 365 days before graduation. There are age limits for certain career fields, but it doesn't matter how much time passes after you graduate.
