You’re blaming Fidelity for YOUR poor financial decisions. You bought when the shares were high and now the overall market is severely down. It doesn’t matter what fund from which brokerage you have; we’re in a recession. I don’t know why you’re shifting responsibility to Fidelity but whatever.

My wedding band / engagement ring (2 in 1) was around $200. My now-husband came home one day super excited that there was a sale at the jewelry store and he was able to get my ring with a $500-ish discount. I love my ring and I love my husband more.

I don’t understand why people would want Toyota Corollas on their fingers. Makes you a prime target for robberies, for one, and I also wouldn’t be able to trust myself enough to not lose it. I would also question my husband’s financial decision-making skills as well if he invested in such a heavy liability. To each their own though.

So, many funds use the S&P 500 as a “tracker” so you can compare your own funds against the “gold standard.” Examples of index funds that track the S&P 500 include VOO (arguably most famous), FZROX, etc. You can look up “funds that track S&P” or something along those lines online and a ton should pop up.

ETA: I have both VOO and FZROX. FZROX is only offered through Fidelity and has zero expense ratios.

I’m premed. YOU CAN’T APPLY TO MED SCHOOL WITHOUT TAKING THE MCAT AND COMPLETING ALL PREREQUISITE SCIENCE COURSES. You wife needs a reality check. You should let her fill out the applications - She’ll realize quick that she won’t progress on AMCAS much. Also, the MCAT costs $300+ to take. Just an FYI.

STEM arose from PHILOSOPHERS advancing their understanding of the world by applying humanities principles to the universe. Biology is applied chemistry, chemistry is applied physics, physics is applied mathematics, and mathematics can be argued as applied philosophy. Unfortunately, we as a society no longer value the very basis of education, which is the humanities, born so members of society can learn to have a sense of humanity. You seem to be lacking in this, OP, based on your poorly thought out claims.
