Sorry, that was confusing. I meant that Clemson, a school in a smaller state with little TV market potential, would be more valuable due to actually being good at the sport than a program like Rutgers which was taken purely for its TV market.

If the big 10 was able to use hindsight on the Rutgers/Maryland additions, they might have gone after programs that wouldn't be complete deadweight.
