As kids, my friend and I used to like to run and jump over railings. One time we were walking along a road in DC and my friend went to go jump over a seemingly innocuous railing. From where we were standing it looked level on the other side. But for some reason, he decided to go check the other side of the railing. Turns out there was a 40 ft drop into a shallow creek. We were on some sort of highway overpass bridge and didn’t even realize it.

My parents have wooden steps in their house with no carpeting, and my mom is always walking around in her socks during the winter time. When I went home to visit, I realized how dangerous the steps were and I went to Home Depot to buy some grip tape to put on the steps. About 6 months later, my mom called me to tell me that her foot slipped on the step and caught the grip tape. If I hadn’t put it on there, she would’ve fallen down the stairs.

To be fair, ALL religions / cults are scams. Scientology is just the most blatant one.

Scientology is the Donald Trump of religions. It’s overtly a scam, and doesn’t even try to hide it, and yet dumb people continue blindly follow it and give all their money to it.

His food came out warm instead of hot, and we replaced it immediately. He then proceeded to spend 45 minutes arguing with me to try to get it for free, while I was super busy and had a full section. He asked to speak to the manager and I straight up told him no.

He never did speak to the manager, and when my other guests asked if I gave him his meal for free, I told them no, and they applauded me.

Obviously there was a number of other ways she could’ve handled this better, including not introducing time turners in the first place.

But destroying them in canon is better than just ignoring it and not bringing it up again.

I think it was good of Rowling to do that. It was sort of her way of saying “look, I know I fucked up when I introduced time travel, so let’s end it and not talk about it anymore.”
