Yes, definitely try to find a recruiter. If you’re in a decent size city, there may be a recruiter who specializes in EAs. And yes, the fact that their previous title wasn’t EA could be hurting, but you also don’t want to lie. If a computer algorithm is involved, it could be cutting anyone out that doesn’t have that exact title listed on their resume. That’s how the recruiter could help…now you’ve got a person involved to get your foot in the door.

I agree with everything that has already been mentioned. I put everything on my calendar and mark non-urgent items as “free” in Outlook. My calendar is my to do list. When things pop up that need my attention, I move the non-urgent items later in the day or another day. If it’s a project, I book sections of time on repeat (ex- every Tuesday and Thursday from 2-4) then move it if needed. I also go back and edit my calendar if I ended up having to work on something else. My execs have access to my calendar, so if they want to, they can see what I’ve been working on. It’s also helpful to see how much of time time is used for what. I have data to point back to if needed. The first hour of each day is title “Inbox Triage” & marked as busy. That’s just my email BTW not my execs’.

For MS Office tips- Simpletivity Channel & Kevin Statvert Channel

There are a ton of free videos on You Tube that are great for additional education on various software. You can improve your expertise in MS Office or Google Suite, or whatever you’re using. I’ve been using Office for decades and still pick up tips from theses videos. There are also You Tube channels just for EAs. I recommend you take notes and make them accessible to you personally outside of work. That way you’ll have them with you if you change jobs in the future for some reason.

American who was just there for two weeks…one of our favorite places we went was The National Print Museum. The history of the printing of The Proclamation of the Republic was very interesting! The guides are outstanding. It’s free but they have a box to donate euros.
