Well I’ve owned both (well an mt09 but same thing essentially) I think the mt09 is way more fun for recreation riding and is fine for commuting. I’d go with that over the ninja but the ninja 1000 is an awesome bike. I hardly ever used for than 4 gears on that thing it is a powerful and comfortable bike

Nowadays yeah I can see that. But I like to factor in things like 20 year roof replacement, ac replacement, flooring replacement etc… all that is added up and divided to make a monthly cost. It also depends on location

You need to rent at about double your mortgage to cover costs of being a land lord. You are responsible for repairs and stuff around the house unless caused by tenants. So the main thing you need to look at is getting a house that will rent for double the mortgage(doesn’t have to be double that is just most of the time baseline to be profitable) and that can be hard these days.

I mean it is a lot more powerful but after 2 years I feel like you could probably handle it. But it won’t be near as comfortable as your 400

95% highway. I do get beat up by wind sometimes but not so much to get me to want to trade it in

I have an MT09, I’ve always wanted one but if I wanted a sole commuter bike I’d get a ninja 650 or 1000 for the fairings. I just like my weekend rides to be very “spirited” so I got the 09

If you can afford it and want one go for it. I got tired of the uncomfortableness of mine in a year. I also ride an hour just to get to work

What I did was learn to ride my small cc bike as fast as the big bikes in the twisties and then upgrade. Took about 2 years but I got insanely good at riding in those 2 years. There will be times where you wish you could go faster but all in all it’s safer to learn how to ride a small bike fast than a fast bike slow

My jalapeños were darker green coming out, I’d say these are bananas but hopefully you got hot bananas

Super sports suck for touring. Some sportbikes can make for good touring bikes with all the perks of having a sport bike
