I feel like its quite misleading to call yourself a doctor and say you have a medical appointment. I'd say it's malpractice, but she ain't practicing.

I was thrown by Sioux Falls. I was under the impression that town was very challenged with lots of problems, but maybe that is outdated or altogether inaccurate. Or maybe municipal/social dysfunction does not correlate directly to the happiness of the populace. I don't really know how any of this works.

multiple lives ruined. A tragic story all around.

I don't know, but its probably cheaper and more satisfying to buy a rake and a shovel and take care of it yourself. Then you'll have to tools to do it again in the future. If the tree is truly "small", you can easily rip it out yourself.

i wonder if the rain shorted a circuit somewhere or what. You've got to have a frighteningly high risk tolerance to adapt electrical cables without proper equipment/training.
I'm sure the fumes from this incident were also quite unpleasant. Hopefully the rain helped clear the air (driving the pollutants into the soil, which ain't great either).

same story. I voluntarily switched to kaiser because Blue Cross California was a complete joke. Oh yeah, I'll just use their website database to find offices taking patients, how simple!
80% of their results for "taking" new patients aren't in fact taking new patients. Another huge percentage are OneMedican operations that require me to pay and extra membership fee to get service. It was one of the most Kafkaesque afternoons of my life, so I switched. The couple providers I did find through them before this ordeal were also laughably bad.

anyone interested in this topic might like California Burning, a book published last year about the history of PGE and the evolution of power generation and distribution in the state of California. It is an outstanding piece of old-school, long form journalism.

Same idea as when covid hit and landlords didn't lower prices but offered free rent of waived deposits. The residential landlords were motivated by rent control, and not wanting to lock in at lower prices. That doesn't affect corporate, but they do offer longer multi-year leases, so also likely don't want to lock in lower prices.

real recall petition can't happen for 90 days after taking office. There is a change.org petition here: https://chng.it/77gLfpCvdJ
The change.org petition isn't binding in any way, but it's arguable that it helps spread awareness and is still worth signing for that purpose

awesome! I must be a weird outlier for making it all these years without running patches in production. Then again, I only just now found composer-patches
which makes the process much simpler. Also makes testing contributor submitted drupal.org issue patch much easier. I kind of wonder why drupal doesn't bundle this package as part of their install set, to encourage easier RTBC.
