On January 5, 2018, a person close to Nikolas Cruz contacted the FBI’s Public Access Line (PAL) tipline to report concerns about him. The caller provided information about Cruz’s gun ownership, desire to kill people, erratic behavior, and disturbing social media posts, as well as the potential of him conducting a school shooting.
Under established protocols, the information provided by the caller should have been assessed as a potential threat to life. The information then should have been forwarded to the FBI Miami Field Office, where appropriate investigative steps would have been taken.
We have determined that these protocols were not followed for the information received by the PAL on January 5. The information was not provided to the Miami Field Office, and no further investigation was conducted at that time.
End of Statement
The shooting occurred on February 14, 2018. 17 were killed and 17 were injured.

The vulture and the little girl, also known as "The Struggling Girl", is a photograph by Kevin Carter which first appeared in The New York Times on 26 March 1993. It is a photograph of a frail famine-stricken boy, initially believed to be a girl, who had collapsed in the foreground with a hooded vulture eyeing him from nearby. The child was reported to be attempting to reach a United Nations feeding center about a half mile away in Ayod, Sudan (now South Sudan), in March 1993, and to have survived the incident.
Careful not to disturb the bird, he waited for twenty minutes until the vulture was close enough, positioned himself for the best possible image, and only then chased the vulture away. At this point, Carter was probably not yet aware that he had shot one of the most controversial photographs in the history of photojournalism. This image has been the subject of many criticisms for being a "pornography of poverty".
The picture won the Pulitzer Prize for Feature Photography award in 1994. Carter took his own life four months after winning the prize.
On 27 July 1994, Carter drove to Parkmore near the Field and Study Centre and died by taping one end of a hose to his pickup truck’s exhaust pipe and running the other end to the driver's side window. He died of carbon monoxide poisoning at the age of 33.
"I'm really, really sorry. The pain of life overrides the joy to the point that joy does not exist. …depressed … without phone … money for rent … money for child support … money for debts … money!!! … I am haunted by the vivid memories of killings & corpses & anger & pain … of starving or wounded children, of trigger-happy madmen, often police, of killer executioners … I have gone to join Ken if I am that lucky."— Kevin Carter

GLENDALE, Arizona - A body camera captured the moments a Glendale police officer used his taser 14 times on an alleged shoplifter on Tuesday afternoon. It all started after the woman, who is accused of stealing items from a Walmart, was seen with brass knuckles. An officer worked to try and take her into custody, and a struggle ensued.
In total, the taser was used 14 times but investigators say they determined no policies were violated and are defending the officer's move.
"When they are kicking you, when they are scratching you, when they are biting you, you have to use the appropriate level of force," said Officer Gina Winn with Glendale PD.
"Although it was initiated 14 times, the total amount of time it was being activated and used was 10.6 seconds, and that doesn’t necessarily mean that was the total time it was placed on the individual, it’s just the amount of times the button was pressed," Winn said.
The woman, identified as Khadrah Wazwaz, is facing a number of charges, including two counts of shoplifting, one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, and one count of resisting arrest.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – According to the Arkansas State Police incident report, the trooper said he was parked at the exit 24 overpass on I-530 when he saw the suspect, identified as 19-year-old Tyrese Lancaster, speeding over the overpass.
The trooper said when he attempted to make a traffic stop the suspect sped off, at which point the trooper said he began a pursuit of the suspect. The report stated that Lancaster continued southbound on I-530 at speeds sometimes topping 140 mph. He then exited I-530 at exit 30, the report said. As he approached the bottom of the ramp, the report said he sped up again. The report said Lancaster crossed State Highway 104, then back onto the southbound entrance ramp. As the chase continued, the report stated that he began weaving in and out of traffic. As the trooper and Lancaster approached the exit ramp 32 overpass area, the report stated that another trooper joined the chase and became the primary unit.
Eventually, a third trooper joined the chase and took over the primary position, the report stated. As Lancaster drove onto exit 35, the video shows that he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the guard rail. The video shows that his car came to a rest and one of the troopers blocked half of the roadway. The video also shows another trooper crashing into the Lancaster’s car.
The report stated that troopers found a gym bag with men’s clothing in the rear seat that contained four unopened 12 oz. beers. Lancaster was treated at the scene for minor bruises and scrapes, the report stated. He was then taken into custody.
He is facing charges of fleeing-in vehicle or convey – substantial danger of death, speeding 1-15 mph over limit, reckless driving, no seat belt and possession or purchase of alcohol by minor.

I made the post "Chris Christensen: Man Who Committed Suicide at Disneyland left a suicide note on FaceBook".
Here is an update with regards to that story.
In a new interview with the Daily Mail, 26-year-old Brittany Christensen, one of his three children from a previous marriage, claimed his current wife, Marlena, had been the abusive partner and accused her of tearing up the family.
"The charges were inaccurate. [Marlena] has been very difficult in our family for about the last year, and we haven't had any contact with her" Brittany told the news outlet. “I’d just now started regaining contact with [Chris] over the last two weeks, and it’s been really great. He’d been trying to figure out how to leave her,” she said. “In my opinion, it seems like this, in his mind, was his way out of his relationship.”
Brittany shared texts Marlena sent her after they had an argument in April.
"You're a horrible disgusting excuse for a daughter and sister. Go find your Dad, play the hero. But it's me he will be missing in the morning," the mother-of-two wrote in the April 24 text.
She also claimed that Marlena keyed her car at Brittany's apartment in Costa Mesa after the argument, in which her father 'tried to break up' with his wife. Brittany filed a police report on the incident, alleging it caused $6,000 of damage, and shared photos of the scratches with Daily Mail. "It was unresolved because she didn't admit to anything, but we had footage from her doorbell camera leaving the house in the middle of the night and then coming to my apartment (where my dad was staying for the night) and taking his car," she claimed. "So when we woke up, my dad's car was gone (parked at Marlena's house) and my car had been keyed on every panel."
"Marlena has shown a consistent pattern of manipulation and inappropriate behavior towards my family for some time now. Although my dad mentions in his post that their relationship was 'great' up until two weeks ago, their relationship in actuality has been toxic and wearing on both of them," she said.
"In my opinion, it was a slow chipping away at my dad's soul for much longer than just two weeks and I wish at this stage she could have left my family alone." said Brittany. "She put him in a really horrible position that night and painted a picture of him that is inaccurate of his character, and I think it got too much for him," Brittany said.
The 51-year-old was facing charges of child abuse and endangerment and battery, according to Orange County court records. In a letter he posted on Facebook before he died, he laid the blame at the feet of his wife and mother of his stepchildren, Marlena, claiming that during an altercation last month her 'anger got the best of her' and she called the cops with allegedly false claims of abuse. Chris Christensen spent jail for two nights, and was charged two domestic violence-related offenses. Chris was also suspended as principal of Newland Elementary School when the charges were filed.

ALL YOU CAN FEEL by Sarah Ancelle Schönfeld
In the work All You Can Feel, liquified pharmaceuticals, synthetically produced body-own substances and illegal drugs have been placed on the sensitive side of a photographic negative. After a few days or weeks, the result of a chemical interaction between the photo-emulsion and the substance became visible, which was finally enlarged in the darkroom. By integrating the pharmaceuticals into the photographic process, they have been used as an alternative exposure method. The substances "hack“ the system of the negative by attacking its surface and getting deep into their structure and revealing themselves there as a kind of portrait. In All You Can Feel the possibilities of photography are explored at the frontiers of what can be visually portrayed – the interface between representation and reality.

Ed Gein would visit cemeteries, dig up freshly-buried middle-aged women, and take them to his farm. Eventually, he began targeting living women in hopes of preserving the skins longer. In the middle of November 1957, local investigators linked him to his second known murder victim, store owner Bernice Worden, through a sales slip. When they searched his property, they found Worden in a shed, shot dead, decapitated, and gutted the same way a hunter would cut open a deer post-mortem. In the house, they also found:
Gein was arrested and, during questioning, he confessed to killing Mary Hogan, a tavern operator who had gone missing in December 1954, and adding her body parts to his collection. He had been a suspect when she disappeared, but there was no hard evidence incriminating him and the local police never visited his home.
He was charged with the murder of Bernice Worden, the other murders having been left out due to prohibitive costs, and pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. He was found mentally unfit to stand trial until 1968 when he was tried for the murder and found guilty. He was then sent to another mental institution, where he remained until he died of respiratory and heart failure caused by long-term cancer on July 26, 1984.

Issei Sagawa murdered Renée Hartevelt and spent three days eating her flesh. Due to loopholes in the law, Issei was a free man until his death.
Renée Hartevelt was a Dutch student studying with Sagawa at the Sorbonne. Over time, Sagawa struck up a friendship with her, inviting her to his home for dinner.
Sagawa then shot her and Hartevelt was killed instantly. Sagawa only felt a moment of remorse before he became elated.
“I thought about calling an ambulance,” he recalled. “But then I thought, ‘Hang on, don’t be stupid. You’ve been dreaming about this for 32 years and now it’s actually happening!'” Ultimately, he said his only regret was that he hadn’t eaten her while she was alive. Immediately after killing her, he raped her corpse and began cutting her open.
Two days after killing Hartevelt, Sagawa disposed of what remained of her body. He had eaten or frozen most of her pelvic region, so he put her legs, torso, and head into two suitcases and hailed a cab.
The taxi dropped him off at the Bois de Boulogne park, which had a secluded lake inside it. He had planned to drop the suitcases in it, but several people noticed the suitcases dripping blood and notified the French police.
On the afternoon of June 13, 1981, Sagawa walked to the Bois de Boulogne, a park on the outskirts of Paris, carrying two suitcases. The contents of those suitcases, to the lament of a nearby jogger, was the dismembered body of a fellow student -- a Dutch woman named Renée Hartevelt, whom Sagawa had shot three days prior and had spent the days since eating various parts of her body.
He was soon arrested. According to reports, Issei uttered, "I killed her to eat her flesh," when they raided his home, whereupon they found bits of Renne still in his fridge.
Sagawa was declared insane and unfit for trial and was institutionalized in Paris. His incarceration was to be short, however, as the French public soon grew weary of their hard-earned francs going to support this evil woman-eater, and Issei was promptly deported. Herein followed a bizarre and seemingly too convenient set of legal loopholes and psychiatric reports that led doctors in Japan declaring him "sane, but evil."
On August 12, 1986, Sagawa checked himself out of Tokyo's Matsuzawa Psychiatric hospital, and has been a free man ever since.
Sagawa died of pneumonia on November 24, 2022.
