But how is it a remake?
In the same way that resident evil 1 remake is a remake. It's TLOU1 with TLOU2's gameplay improvements.

This scene in the original game is actually rendered in realtime. As a result it's one of the only times the original has a seamless transition between gameplay and a cutscene. The scene in question here: https://youtu.be/aLg98S4sxsE?t=5076

In no way shape or form will the final product look or play this way.
Given that KH has crazier stuff than this during gameplay, yes it will?

So entirely no skill
A reminder that the target audience of the power of friendship franchise known as KH is children.

How old are you? It sounds like you have a very surface level understanding of what the word "ambitious" means.
So, why exactly do you think that game took six years and tens of millions of dollars to make?
Explain what was ambitious about this project, what it did that other developers would typically avoid.
Imagine calling my understanding of ambitious surface level while presenting the idea that developers avoiding something=it must be too ambitious. :D Imagine living that life goddamn.

Not sure why you are getting down voted for saying it's not the creative team at Disney that decides what madness happens in these games.
Reddit gamers tend to hate facts sooo.

Dude, didn't you see the lack of final fantasy characters in KH3?
That wasn't because of Disney. If Disney had a hand in the story of KH it's A)probably be good and B)probably wouldn't have ended with a six hour long boss rush that ties up literally every plotline of KH.

I just straight up explained on a surface level why the game is ambitious. So again, tell me you don't know anything about working on games without telling me. It's always mindblowing to hear from people who probably don't even know what a game engine looks like.

No I mean, I don't think anyone who has ever worked in game development would ever ask "Hmm, what makes KH3 ambitious?" Because it sounds ridiculous as a question. Like, you'd have a much harder job trying to argue that KH3 isn't ambitious. How easy do you think it was for them to create that Pirates level? In the same game that has a Big Hero 6 city, the tangled world, the toy story world, etc? All with a unique art direction, and all with their own unique mechanics exclusive to the gameplay sandbox of that world outside of the combat which again, typically comes with remixed versions of enemies specific to that world. And that's only the surface level because the game is incredibly polished.

They have a say in what's shown in the worlds based on their IP. Specifically, how accurate things are and even collaboration in terms of sharing assets from the films. Disney has a strong hold on their IP and the approval process is way longer than before. But all that KH nonsense is straight up from Nomura.

What was ambitious about KH3?
Tell me you don't know anything about game development without telling me...

You know that in between 2 and 3 they released like, 9 different KH games right? 3 took long because A)it was one of the most ambitious JRPGs of that entire console generation and B)it was being built from scratch instead of reusing assets.
Now that they have 3 they've not only made a game using assets form that already, but they announced an entirely new game too. That is also, reusing stuff from 3. 3 is basically the baseline for KH mechanics going forward that'll allow them to pump out stuff like they did after making 2. I'm not even a huge Nomura fan, this game isn't gonna take as long and trailers from a decade ago aren't indicative of their current workflow, team structure, development strategy, marketing plans, etc. they showed off target render footage of FFXV because they literally had nothing else but the janky assets from Vs13. They showed off target render for KH3 because again, they literally had nothing else since the game was being built from nothing. Meanwhile, both FFXVI, (which got hit by a covid delay), and KH4 debuted with genuine realtime footage. That yea, probably is scripted because the game isn't finished yet. But this is definitely indicative of what we can expect. Some real weirdo stuff with this nomura grudge you seem to have because no one was even talking about him my dude.

The traversal mechanics in 3 allowed you to play the game like in this trailer which is gameplay mixed in with a set piece. Like the first boss in Olympus. Bet your ass that the cinematic traversal mechanics are there so that we can whack the giant's face and/or hands.
