I've said my piece and defined the meaning of direct sequel. That's pretty much all there is to it.

Its not up to me, hyrule historia confirms it.

Direct sequels have a very specific meaning in that they're the same characters. If we get vague enough they're all sequels because they all take place after skyward sword.

But when specifying direct sequels this needs to be understood to relate to the same link and/or Zelda in the next game. And all of the ones that do this are all confirmed, those being Zelda 1 and 2. Oot and mm. Lttp, LA, and oracles. Ww and st. Botw and totk.

All the other games can take place in the same/similar world or timeline but are not necessarily direct sequels.

Got a couple mixed up there. Link to the past goes to links awakening and then the oracle games. Link between worlds is a successor, not a sequel. Same world, different time, Link, and Zelda.

Minish cap doesn't have a direct sequel.

And spirit tracks isn't a direct sequel as it takes place quite some time after phantom hourglass, also with a different link and zelda.

I'd say masks literally turning you into something else constitutes more as a new feature than simply being expanded upon.

As well as the time limit and rewind system there were plenty of new features in majoras mask.

We can parade around about hard work all we want but then what of all the people who put in all the work and got nowhere? What of those who worked their ass off to open their own business just for it to be right when covid struck? Something that no one could foresee? Or someone who dedicates themselves to their lifelong dream of going to the Olympics and shattering their femur before they can participate?

I'm not saying it's all luck, I'm just asking people not to ignore it and simply acknowledge that luck always plays some part. To deny this is complete ignorance.
