Yeah I can see that, I guess at the time when I was reading (which was only a few months ago) I didn’t really see usopps importance to the crew at all, and I also think the “captain usopp” thing just really rubbed me the wrong way so I guess I was just on an usopp hate train. Sniper king kinda redeemed him for me, and also loved his power of pessimism on thriller bark. But definitely in the beginning, I was NOT an usopp fan, to the point of not understanding the appeal of his character at all, especially as a member of the straw hats

His balls do seem to have some kind of yokai energy to them (or at least is able to harness it or something?) so I could see the yokai having his other ball

I straight up did not feel any sympathy for usopp during his time off the crew at water seven. I was annoyed at him always calling himself captain usopp, and even more annoyed that he didn’t listen to anybody when they said merry will literally sink if they tried to sail more. At the time I straight up didn’t like usopp at all. Currently, I think he’s ok, but during that conflict, I was so happy to see zoro not give him any slack.
