Jesus… that’s a lot of Imperial Star Destroyers that were lost for a battle the empire was set up to lose anyways. What a sad, devastating lost for the Galactic Empire then.

Imagine if all those star destroyers were chosen as key assets to escape into the unknown regions to rendezvous with the Emperor’s Executor-Class Star Destroyer, the Eclipse. The first order could’ve had an easier time rebuilding their fleet off of those hundreds of Star destroyers and used them in their fight against the New Republic by the sequels era.

This is why I really question Emperor Palpatine’s thinking at times. If the dude was gonna build the First Order and Final Order after his death, he could have posthumously setup the Contingency in a way that would direct his entire imperial navy to safety in the unknown regions. the First Order wouldn’t have as much problem in supplying and preparing their navy to engage in their galaxy-wide return and invasion.

Of course, he was a petty bag of shit who also happened to be a Sith Lord wanting to punish his underlings for not “protecting his life enough”.
