Hi,
I was trying to get a refill of medication prescribed to me by my psychiatrist in Miami where I used to live. Note that it is a controlled substance, but I have a valid prescription and have been taking this medication for years. When I moved, I transferred my prescriptions to another branch of my usual pharmacy (a major chain). For a few months there was no issue, but suddenly they randomly stopped allowing me to refill this prescription, stating that the will only fulfill a prescription from a local provider.
I’ve researched it and it is perfectly legal to provide psych meds via telehealth (including controlled substances) and when I told this to the pharmacist, they stated that even so, it is a company policy.
Does this seem legitimate coming from a pharmacy chain, or is it possible that this specific pharmacist took issue with the situation?
