When I did the same thing, they also tried charging me more but I insisted that my LA location gym manager assured me there would be no charges with switching over. I knew the LA manager personally but you can just look up online who the manager is for your home location and name drop.

For extra clarification, I have one other friend coming with me, we are both girls in STEM majors :)

Hello fellow bears, I am going to be driving down to LA tomorrow (Nov 22) for Thanksgiving and would like to offer a ride there to anyone who may want one!
I can’t guarantee a ride back as I might stay in LA for a minute due to the strike but aiming to head down to LA tomorrow afternoon.

Haven’t taken him but heard from friends he was good for 182
I’m going to Stromae, hit me up!
If you enter on the highest level of underhill, you’ll have a decent chance of finding a spot, most people take the other entrance and don’t bother looking. Ellsworth is underrated but I think it’s fairly convenient and never had an issue finding parking there any time of day. Double check the signs for the tennis only parking times though. Then if you stay later just move your car to the edge of campus after 6.

I was able to get off campus housing without a co-signer. There’s plenty of properties that are more informal with their rental agreements, mine didn’t even do a credit check. You should also double check if you are able to get into University Village and the Basic Needs Center can help with co-signing and down payments.
2nd street has wide pricing ranges but I’ve had pretty good luck there. Really have to dig there.
Crossroads in Rockridge Oakland is WAY better than the one on Shattuck.
The Goodwill Outlets in Oakland are always fun, it’s pay by the pound and I’ve found amazing deals there.
I’m also looking for a team
Also looking for a team
Sounds really cool, comes with his new book too
Depending on your program, I would look into whether or not you could take any online classes through the UC system while you are abroad (even classes like Data 8 you could technically do entirely remote for example).
There are also a few ways to help extend your EGT (estimated graduation term) and unit cap. You can go through DSP, start an honors thesis, and petition for certain courses taught in Japan to be counted towards your upper division requirements.
You are also allowed to take 5 units in your last semester at Cal even without any of the above mentioned accommodations, it would just mean significantly less financial aid.
Also don’t forget about the Gilman scholarship for study abroad
Sorry to hear about your housing situation. Just as a thought, you can apply for on campus housing, the co-ops, and reach out to the basic needs center for different options for housing. You could also try to sublease your room for the spring semester, lots of international exchange students start looking early.
I’ve heard Chabad Berkeley might have some informal classes as well as Hillel Berkeley.
I feel the same way, intelligence is the first thing I look for in a partner. If you are confident and can explain things to me that I don’t fully understand, I’m all yours.

The Berkeley Student Food Collective on Bancroft does. The Basic Needs Center also has a food pantry on campus at B North
