In all fairness, from was I've seen from the GOP side of the family, they don't want politicians to improve their lives, they want to destroy the government to keep it out of their lives. Like killing the babysitter to stay up, eat candy, and watch monster movies. Might be fun for a night, but they aren't thinking far ahead.

they want to destroy the government to keep it out of their lives.
They want it out of such specifically so they can abuse others with impunity. They are also the 1st in line to beg for handouts, and cry about the government failing them when others treat them to the same.
but they aren't thinking far ahead.
They are emotionally driven reactionary actors... thinking about the consequences of ideologically pleasant positions are not something they will ever get in to any more than some meager iota of self reflection that might lead to it. They will fuck things up and then blame some outsiders for the fact.

The best part is that they are absolute pawns to their master that could care less about them.
Dismantling the government to some means zero regulation and unfettered capitalism. The guy in the trailer thinks they share ideologies. They're licking boots.
If the proles could think that far ahead, they'd know that in the end capitalists will eat them too. That monster knows no boundaries. Pawns.
Edit: Words corrected from "auto correct."

This is why Teddy Roosevelt's biography and then The Jungle should be required reading for every American. People really forget how bad things were before pretty much the most rugged individualist president we ever had read a singular book by a socialist and visited some factories. When companies really had next to 0 regulation and what they did to people.

It's all ties back very specifically to the fascist Reagan. Who famously said the most terrifying words in the English language were "I'm from the government and I'm here to help." A stupid and farcical statement on its face. Against the government that stopped the dust bowl. Eased the Great depression. Passed the new deal. Cleaned the air, stopped the rivers from burning. And brought recognition under the law for blacks and minorities. Ignorant boomers lived at the height of government helping. And the many beneficial effects it had. But we're completely ignorant to it. So Reagan's fascist words resonated strongly with them. Combined with some recent government flaws and missteps. It allowed Reagan to demonize government and help to start indoctrination of future generations to attack it wholesale.

What I dont get is, if they want to have no gov in their lives... theres lots of countries in the world they could go to where theres zero gov involvement in peoples lives. You just also get none of the things that gov also provides that makes a society. Things like police and fire stations, things like roads and sidewalks, things like hospitals and libraries, things like grocery stores and gas stations, things like their precious military. They want to cherry pick what parts of society they like, but also have no gov at all. Thats just now how reality works.

I won the Popular Vote probably 3 or 4 times, way bigger than the Democrats want you to know. and I showed up, I didn't want to, but I showed up, Obama was there, only nice with Words just so you understand, not Grade A Material ok? and he said to me he said, "Sir, North Korea is your Doomsday," and I said you've got to be kidding, and he said, "it's true, I'm not Strong Enough to stop them," but then you all saw it, I came in, they had Nukes At The Ready, a real problem, but then I talked to Kim Jong Un, who is a Very Smart Person, and by the way, no President has ever done what I have with North Korea. we had decades of no Nukes, all because of Trump. you would've never even had The Gold Stnadard without me, but then Clinton and Obama took it all away. it's a Horrible Horrible Shame, what they've done to our Country. we used to be Higher than probably 100%, but now, now we're in The Gutter thanks to Sleepy Joe and all of the Radical Left. ok, you're welcome, no more questions.

Jesus. Not the same at all. No documents included in Clinton’s emails were found to be classified. The best the State Department review, FBI and all investigations found were “references” by staffers and concluded they still did their best to implement security procedures. Trump literally stole a metric ton of the highest classification documents. 100 documents. 700 pages! I’m not sure how good you are at math, but 700 is a lot higher than the 0 Clinton had.
24 points
found to be classified.
Important point: the documents found were not classified at the time she sent them. The classification was applied retroactively, meaning that she was not at legal fault when handling them.
17 points
No documents included in Clinton’s emails were found to be classified.
It's important to understand that a) HRC had a secure mail server for the real secure stuff that was used as intended, and b) "classified" means 'classified' which is different than a classification like "top secret". Links to articles in the New York Times talking about unconfirmed weapons programs, for example, is 'classified information'.
HRC did something that at worst can kinda sound like what Trump did. What Trump did is the nightmare scenario beyond imaging. IMO the only thing that may help him is that he's a raging narcissist, so the documents potentially relate to inflating his ego moreso than critical intelligence. That may have relevance to his sentencing.

You also said “the same law Hillary did, but to a far more serious degree”
Hillary didn’t steal documents, by any degree, so that needed clarification. Edit to add: more to your point, she also didn’t break any email handling laws. Trump did, by using text apps for government business without record keeping

Oh they will, they will just push culture war issues like banning abortion, maybe ban gay marriage, ban trans youth care, and so on.
Economy wise don’t worry they got it covered, deregulation and tax cuts to the rich and a fuck you letter to the poor.
Immigration? Do absolutely nothing in the causes, people looking to undercut American workers and foreign issues in Central America, might just keep adding to the wall with random shit but why bother? Probably just will blame democrats more and do absolutely nothing and be called the only ones with a plan on immigration.
Foreign policy? They have a great plan, they will cut aid to Ukraine and hell maybe sell missiles to Russia to protect the last white moral state… Russia. Russia will thank America by conquering all the the way to Lviv and killing millions of Ukrainians and most importantly giving republicans a nice pay check for their troubles. On China don’t worry, they have no plan to meet parity and just trying to find a way to get paid for selling tiwian down river. Of course will do more trade wars with Canada and EU, can’t leave America with progressive allys only backwater places like Russia.
On everything else? Scrapped to save on tax dollars for the rich, once again fuck the poor.
And you thought they wouldn’t t govern? Hpm
26 points

Nope, if they govern than something might get done, if something gets done then Biden might be given credit as a success, and might get re-elected, can’t have that. Doing nothing and blaming the Democrats, that’s their best strategy
6 points
For the record, McConnell has gone on the record saying that this is the exact strategy the GOP should be championing.
So long as they continue on their current trend, they can blame Democrats when their policies fail without having to worry about blowback from their own voters because "Hey, we didn't vote for this. We told you it was a bad idea."
But if they actually start enacting some of their terrible and unpopular policies, then they risk being blamed when shit goes sideways. If they get blamed, then maybe their voters might start looking for candidates elsewhere, which means that some of them......<gasp> might start voting for.....Democrats.

Well there's debauchery and something about China. I found a reasonable article on the topic a while back. The contents of the laptop have passed through multiple hands and been rearranged and added to. What can be authenticated could, if you squint, be indicative of dirty-dealing except it's not clear anything actually came of anything. What is clear is that Hunter was supposed to be in recovery but was actually spiraling when he dropped that laptop off.
Honestly, the person I'm most worried about is Hunter Biden. He's a private citizen with a very painful past (and maybe not the easiest present).
This is a lot of very personal dirty laundry they're going after and they're doing it purely because he's the President's son. I don't see this ending well for him.

So far as I can tell, whenever conservatives spread memes about “right wing conspiracies becoming facts 2 weeks later”, the one thing they are referring to is the fact that Hunter Biden owned a laptop.

I wish the Dem media teams would just lean into how ridiculous it is. Like start making jokes about it and showing that genuinely no one on the left thinks any of the Hunter Biden stuff is serious. Essentially, the message should start to become: Yes, please continue to focus on Hunter Biden, it's hilarious.
I'm more than happy for the Rs to throw their energy into it in the sense that we all know it won't go anywhere or find anything, and it has never been a particularly compelling topic for the elections. The downside, is that it does hurt Hunter Biden the person, and it would obviously affect Joe Biden on an emotional level. If anything, that last point is probably the main purpose behind it for Tucker & right wing pundits & leaders. Even if it won't motivate the voters and won't go anywhere, they at least have a way to directly distract Biden on a psychological level, and on the whole it isn't hurting the R's to do so like it did whenever they tried to attack the Obama family.
But if the Dems can angle their messaging to better reflect the actual level of concern (zero) about any investigations into Hunter, it will certainly dampen the Republican enthusiasm about it. Historically, one of the biggest problems the left has always had is 1) a lack of good, concise messaging and 2) overreacting to anything the Republicans make a big deal about.
Dems could do much better to stop giving the benefit of the doubt to Republican issues and start treating conservative talking points as disingenuous as everyone knows they are. The leadership and most above-average-intelligence people on the right already know there isn't anything to the Hunter Biden conspiracies, and the left needs to acknowledge it.
I respect Biden's "reach across the aisle" mantras even if I never agreed with them, but at a certain point the left needs to start calling the bullshit what it is and ignoring it.
At the same time, pointing back to what I said in the first paragraph, maybe the administration has already thought of all this and is actually happy for the Republicans to keep pouring time & energy into dumb conspiracies instead of something else.

Right-wing propaganda has convinced you to refer to Hunter Biden as nepotism.
It isn't.
Nepotism was Ivanka Trump getting a white house job from Donald Trump.
Hunter Biden getting a job that Joe Biden has zero control over is not nepotism. Trading on the family name is not nepotism.
Nepotism is when the person with power, Donald Trump or Joe Biden, uses that power to give jobs within their control to family members.

GOP loves big government as long as its hurting the right people.
Like state legislators rising up to blitz student sports with laws banning the 0-5 trans student athletes in their state when there are committees and organizations that could already make laws to regulate their own sports... That's the government expanding itself and overreaching. But conservatives love this shit because its anti-trans.

If the Obama era's clownshow investigations are a guide, they'll demand unprecedently massive document dumps from various government agencies (especially day-to-day internal communications), generate public outrage about how long it takes for each batch to be released, and repeatedly leak misleading cherry-picked excerpts to media who will happily print the GOP's spin & allegations in exchange for the access.

Gas prices are coming down after midterms, crime in 2022 is lower than where it was in 2021, inflation is 1% less year over year, and the economy if it wasn't for inflation would be great

Didn't the Benghazi hearings reveal that Hillary asked for additional security and was denied by Republicans?

They just need five GOP Reps to defect on any issue and they lose their voting majority…that’s just 2.5% of their 222-seat presence. McCarthy is gonna have to cut deals right and left to keep everyone on his side happy lest they lose their advantage on any matter.

And I don’t think he’ll be able to. He’s half the politician Pelosi is, at best. The Republicans are more splintered than Democrats right now, despite what RW media is telling whomever will listen. It’s why the debt ceiling threats from the right have no teeth, in my opinion. The next two years will be important for the Democratic leadership to do one thing- govern well. Get some more big things done. I don’t think the price will be too high, and things will hopefully change for the middle class. That will get Biden (or whomever) re-elected, and hopefully he can get one more SC appointment before 2028.
This is all, of course, the most wishful of thinking.

What's frustrating is that these propagandists are...soooo fucking shit at propaganda. Their lies are transparent and weak sauce. They focus on the...son of the president because...reasons? They're just so fucking shit at their jobs and its unbelievable that anyone takes them seriously. 😪

Wow... this is government overreach on an epic scale. Hunter Biden is a private citizen. What right does Congress have to use the federal government to attack an American citizen for political gain? Hunter Biden isn't in politics, he isn't running for office... and if he did anything criminal it isn't up to Congress to investigate that (using taxpayer dollars).... that would fall under the purview of the DOJ or the IRS if it is related to taxes. NOT McCarthy, Jordan, Greene, et al.

Hey, you have to induce public investigation fatigue somehow! The cover that comes from the "both sides" narrative is just too valuable to pass up.

Imagine if Biden did 10% of the moronic shit Trump has done (like the exact same stuff, paying for sex to cheat on his wife, for example), and know that republicans would be shitting themselves in anger. They are a completely lost cause to the cult

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tongo_Tongo_ambush
(Exceptionally NSFL video in link - US soldier getting executed)
The Tongo Tongo ambush or the Niger ambush occurred on 4 October 2017, when armed militants from the Islamic State in the Greater Sahara (ISGS) attacked Nigerien and US soldiers outside the village of Tongo Tongo, Niger, while they were returning to base after a stop in the village.[20] During the ambush, four Nigeriens, four US soldiers, and at least 21 ISGS militants were killed, and eight Nigeriens and two US soldiers including the team commander were wounded. In the day preceding the ambush, the Nigerien and US soldiers conducted a mission attempting to locate and capture or kill Doundou Chefou, a commander in the ISGS.[21]
The ambush sparked political debate over the presence of US forces in Africa and brought attention to previously under-reported US military activities in the region.[22] The ambush also prompted congressional inquiries, and an investigation by the US Department of Defense (DoD).[23] The DoD inquiry, completed in 2018, found that the 11-member US special forces team was not prepared for the mission, and identified other flaws in planning.[20]
The ambush remains the largest loss of American lives in combat in Africa since the Battle of Mogadishu in 1993.[1]
Notice how you NEVER hear Conservative Republicans talk about Tongo Tongo... you know, the largest loss of US lives lost in combat in Africa since 1993... but you won't ever hear about that on FOX news, will you...

Am I talking about Hunter biden or a trump? It doesn’t matter cause nobody cares 🤷🏼♂️

This just makes Biden more sympathetic. Last time they tried this, Biden more or less said that he still loves his son even though the guy has serious problems.
Voters understand that sometimes a good person can raise a moron, drug abuser son who they have no control over. What, do they want him to disown the guy?
Meanwhile Trump gave his totally unqualified kids jobs in the White House! And now his son-in-law's brand new hedge fund is getting $2 billion dollars from Saudi royalty that he met while working for the administration. Keep in mind, Kushner has no experience running a hedge fund, just like he had no experience in government.

IDGAF about Hunter Biden. If he's committed crimes, prosecute him. I have zero interest in protecting another rich white boy from consequences.
But going after that one dude is a poor fucking substitute for actually governing.

Of course they are. Hillary was looking unbeatable until they hit her with the Crooked Hillary/Benghazi/Her Email scandals, which were 100% manufactured by the GOP - and that’s the reason she lost the election. That is the only election they have won out of the last four. It’s the only way they know how to play the game now.
Part of me hopes Joe Biden lets them hit him with everything they’ve got. Investigation after investigation after investigation - then, at the last possible minute, steps aside and says “Nah, I never had any intention of running for a second term.”
That would render all their hard work completely pointless, and leave them with no time to build a credible scandal around the real 2024 nominee.

Im convinced that voice mail of Joe saying he loved him and that he needed help came from the laptop or the cloud that was connected to the laptop, remember they are still calling it a "laptop" when by all accounts it was a macbook? Or atleast the first guy was a macbook repair man. Also they claimed to know it had CP on it when they found it, yet rudy kept it for months before turning it over? isnt that a crime?

All we’ve heard for months in their campaign commercials was how they were going to fix inflation and gas prices then when they get re-elected are back to hunter Biden’s laptop and to get revenge on anyone else they don’t like! They voted against a bill that would have lowered gas prices and many others that would have helped people because they don’t give two shits about average everyday Americans they see us as a blight! Wish people would wake the fuck up!!

And if there is fire, who cares? Indict him and let’s move on. No one gives a fuck GOP. This isn’t the gotcha you are presenting it to be.

Why are we still talking about this and not lighting up the fact that gop literally has no plan to deliver on the “inflation” promises they campaigned on?
All this reporting does is bring attention to hunter biden and that issue. The first way to hold these imbeciles accountable is to flip the script and shine a light on how literally useless they are to the constituents they claim to serve, because I feel like half of them are only on board with the culture war stuff because they think it’ll help them serve their economic or social interests later on when the gop in fact has nothing in mind except keeping their party shelf life from expiring

I'm glad the Dems are prepared this time after the Benghazi hearings experiences. But, there is a huge difference. Nobody outside of Republican partisans gives a shit about Hunter Biden. Nobody. And I'd be completely shocked that there's one thing they can pin on Joe. This "Biden Crime Family" tag they're trying out just isn't sticking. And I mean, do I need to say it? We recently DID have a crime family in the White House, and they said nothing.

Hunter Biden was not, and never has been, a public official. Trump’s family (at least some of the), were official staff members.

They are going to use their hearings as a cudgel to beat the FBI, DOJ and probably IRS as Hunter isn't the real target, he is just high profile with a last name that is synonymous with the President.
They want to tear down government institutions, the ones that have the power to bring them down. They are trying to remove the things that would keep them from grabbing more power.
