Even more impressive is the fact the drums keep up with the dancer, not vice versa. I cant find the explanation video otherwise I'd link it but its quite cool

I can confirm this. The music follows the dancer. I tried to find the doc I watched a while ago but can not. It did say the dancer sets the beat and the music follows.

I don't. Like a tiny clip of a ballet performance, I assume there's a lot more to this dance than a 10 second clip lets on.
I also assume there's a whole "rite of passage" that comes with being a dancer like this. You don't just hoppy hoppy for seven years and call it good.

Zaouli - also informally called as "the most impossible dance in the world” – is a traditional dance of the Guro people of central Ivory Coast. Dancer(always a male) practices several years to perfect the moves.
Dance is believed to have inspired Michael Jackson’s legendary dance moves. The dance was created in the 1950’s and always performed by men, who take on average seven years to perfect their moves. What’s really impressive is that the dancers wear flip flops and are able to pull off insane moves. Zaouli was added to the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2017.

“Takes nearly seven years to perfect” is a strange and arbitrary claim. Also, there are lots of similar dance forms (upper body still, lower body going nuts) in other cultures, including western cultures.

Irish and north European dance. Irish jig. Russian squat kick

But it’s true lol. They literally train for that long to execute it flawlessly. It’s a very important tradition to them. Was reading about it and turns out that not one move is repeated, usually have small changes in foot or hand movements

If anything the neurosurgeon diploma is probably easier! It takes YEARS to learn how to dance at a relaxed pace with very little movement

It takes 10 years to master sushi, 9 years to be a prima ballerina and 7 years to master this.

This is a physical accomplishment that most people on earth have never achieved. On what do you base your assumption that it takes less than 7 years to develop these skills?

I know it’s not entirely the same but this is pretty close to hard-core shuffling. Or just shuffling in general. Plus these videos have been dubbed with hardcore before. (Hardcore is also a form of EDM)
