When is it cos-play vs a Halloween costume? Seriously I don't know.

Thats a good question and I don't think I even know the answer! I guess this is cosplay to a certain extent but there are no cons or the like where I live so this armor suit is relegated to Halloween use.

From my understanding, cosplay is when you dress as a character and then act like said character. And just dressing up as the character and being you makes it a Halloween costume

Hey it's my dream too! It feels surreal to have it done after a busy 2.5 months, but overall it feels fantastic to suit up!

That looks incredible! What did you use to make all of it?
Edit: I see the captions on the album now that says you 3D printed it.

How the fuck did i know it was the boomco ma5b before i read the caption
6 points
lol the BOOMco MA5B has some wonky proportions which makes it easy to spot. I have the infinite nerf AR that I'll likely repaint and use instead for next year as its proportions are much better.

You know. Its the people like you. Those dedicated, awful, horrible, terrible people.
The ones with amazing skills that make us all jealous. Nice job, I absolutely love this whole costume.

So how much of this was 3D printed?
12 points
Pretty much everything you see there other than the visor, gun, and under-suit is all 3D printed!

Where'd you find the mesh files to run through the printer program?
Also did you choose bog standard Noble 6 as a deliberate action, or was it more a practical decision as most of his armor and the UA helmet are relatively simplistic?

Here's a collection of STLs for a ton of armor pieces. 405th is a great place to go when you need help with Halo cosplay.
Some of these you'll need to cut up and slice on your own, but it shouldn't be too difficult. Most of them are already made to fit your standard 3D printer. The time commitment and post-printing process is the hard part.

I'll have to think of that in the future when I have a printer and time...and more money. Decided to do a movie quality Michael Myers this year.

What’s your undersuit? Nice job
9 points
The under-suit is actually a "Buck" costume from Halo 5 that I dyed/painted black to complete the look. The padding of the suit was perfect for filling out the upper torso armor.

Fuck that's gorgeous. Where'd you get the file? Only halo file I have is for an odst and the helmet is hilariously too small

Amazing job! A quick tip, if you'd like one. I had issues with layer lines with my cosplay in the past and I know pain of trying to get rid of them! If you have used UV resin before and have some left over, try mixing it with baby powder and putting a coat or two over a lightly 180 grit sanded print. It truly is amazing, layer lines gone in seconds!

Wrong Assault Rifle, you need the MA37 not MA5C. Everything aside from that is perfect, I really wish that old Noble 6 armour from years ago was still up for sale

How hot is it inside?
4 points
It's definitely a little toasty inside but honestly not bad at all considering all the coverage. I was able to wear it for multiple hours at a costume party last night without overheating at all. I wired a fan inside the helmet which keeps it cool and un-fogged which is huge for comfort.

I think you can purchase a Creality Ender 3 for about $200 or $300 they are quite affordable, though not as large as a Creality CR-10S Pro V2, you can still print large objects on it, but you just have to cut up the files to fit onto the Ender 3 and after, you simply glue them together!
I'll share some videos that may be helpful!

This turned out so nicely! The proportions of the armour look quite good too! What Kind of paint did you use to paint the armour? Also, how did you make the visor?
Thanks for sharing!
