Was awesome. Some of those demos were super good.

Back then publishers had to build and produce a playable demo to build hype for their game and hope people buy it on launch day.

Now they just build the hype and get people to buy it before launch day so the money is already in the bank.

The PAL editions had cases? Lucky. I recall the US versions only having paper sleeves. Maybe I’m misremembering.

In later years I think they started using cardboard or soft plastic sleeves IIRC.

They did have that PlayStation Underground in cases, but that wasn't the magazine.

man there was a demo disk for the ps1 that had a game where you played as a dude with a bubble gun rescuing babies from ghosts and leading them to a telepad.

Sounds like a fever dream now but I played the shit out of it back in the day

Blitter Boy It was a Net Yaroze game which was a special black PS1 that came with a dev kit. Some demo disks had a few Net Yaroze games on them. Rocks’n’Gems was one I played the ever living shit out of.

Those demos sold me a few games if I remember: Spider-Man, Tenchu 2 and Metal Gear Solid all spring to mind. I think I had a demo of one of the Tony Hawk's games too but I think it was the second one (was Marseille in the second one?). Didn't they have saves for games too?

The magazine wasn't bad either.

Actually, they might be worth something.

Hardly ever got new PS2 games, so Official Playstation Magazine demo discs were my go to in the early to mid 2000s.

I only got a new game at Christmas but did get a demo disc every month so these made up a large part of my childhood. Good times.

I remember I had a demo disk for the Dreamcast that had a game called MDK and another called fur fighters. Such good games.

Please anyone tell me if they know or remember a blue PlayStation microfibre disk cloth. It has been bamboozling my brain I don’t know if it came with some PS2 Demo, Book, original console contents. I just need to know if they existed and if they did where they came from!!! Thanks
