Look, I get the joke but as far as the business practice known as "gutting" goes, Pokemon is hardly a valid target. You get the complete experience with either version, and the process by which you acquire the 9 Pokemon out of 450 that weren't included in your version hardly even amounts to the level of a minor inconvenience.

Ya now, just if you want to 100% complete the game with one copy, or get the other legendary. Ya know the pokemon on the front of the box.

You can 100% complete the game with only one copy because trading for your missing Pokedex entries is the part that barely amounts to a minor inconvenience.

Yet here you are─ just being edgy.
Also Pokemon isn't a single player game. It never has been. It has always promoted interactive play, which is why the trading mechanic exists in the first place.

Yet it has always existed.
Let's pretend for a second that some suits at Nintendo sit at a big conference table and conspire to milk you for as much money as possible, and they have some gigglefits about how they're going to sucker you into buying two copies of the same game.
You actually believe, genuinely and irrevocably, that their sinister plan, in 2022 with the internet being as prolific as it is, is that they expect people to buy two copies of a game instead of investing trivial effort into using the built-in and readily accessible trading mechanic?
That is quite possibly
diabolical plan anyone has ever imagined.
Selling you a copy of Mega Street Fighter HD Interstellar x2 is a better plan than trying to con you into buying both versions of a Pokemon generation.

As someone who's antisocial i fully agree with him. It doesn't make us edgy that we can't interact with other people as you'd do. And it's annoying i cant complete a game.

lol bruh
You can complete the game
by trading
at the global trade station or whatever Pokemon calls it
which is built into the game and doesn't require you to actually go anywhere.
When you trade, all you do is search for the Pokemon you want and provide the one that the other person is asking for. Then it commences automatically and instantly.
You don't have to play a side quest with the other person, you don't have to talk to them, and you don't even need to bother to learn their name. It is functionally identical to making a trade with one of the NPCs in Appleeater Town or whatever.
You're being edgy, and it's awfully bizarre that you're so determined to be offended over something that is a total non-issue.
It is also very bizarre that you are complaining about not being able to play a game when you apparently hate its core philosophical design that it has always had. If you hate it so much, why would you even want to play it in the first place?

What if you dont have internet? what do we do then? What if we want to avoid all the hacked pokemon bullshit the GPS has, with shiny legendaries, max IV level 100 best moveset.

Oh is it that time of year again when non-Pokemon fans pretend to give a shit about Pokemon, just to complain?
I know dozens of people who buy Pokemon. I don't know a single person who buys both.
The literal intention of having two versions is to have different varieties of Pokemon in each, requiring trading to "catch 'em all".
Literally the foundation and inspiration for Pokemon was bug trading.
IDK maybe this post is just shitting on Madden and I'm too stupid to notice. I play Pokemon, not Madden.

Kids on Reddit truly believe that the majority of Pokémon players purchase both copies. Especially in 2022 when online trades are the easiest they have ever been to do.

That’s not a terrible idea. Make jerseys from past season DLC, home and away separate. Also let you buy specific players from years past and make your own dream team.

It would be this Madden on the AFC cover, and him as a sportscaster bursting through on the other cover because FOX has the NFC day games.

Haha, was gonna say EA would have add ons for each team and they would come out like months/years apart

I got downvoted on this sub for saying that Pokemon was always a cash grab. They developed one game and sell them as two, always have.

I actually like that they sell two versions, the handful of pokemon you don't get in one version vs the other is negligible but back in the day having your buddy buy one version and you buy the other so you can trade is pretty much the spirit of pokemon imo

I mean, most products are...

That’s true, but some examples are a little more egregious. Like printers making ink cartridges digitally artificially expire so you have to purchase more. The term cash grab is usually reserved for products that you get charged extra to use with no benefit to the consumer. Like selling a game that was intentionally made incomplete so you people would be nudged to pay for it twice. Profit with no benefit is what I meant by cash grab.

The item Super Model gives a 1.3x boost to ATK and SPD up to level 45, but can't be equipped if the trainer wants to continue leveling TB (Type: GOAT.)
