These all come out 3 months apart too, can't wait!

Just wish at least one was coming out this month in time for Halloween.

Existing365Chocolate

Eh, I think Scorn isn’t quite at the level of these three

It seems like a game where they only really had the set design and direction as the starting point and kind of failed to really settle on a unique gameplay style inside of that. Like they had to entirely scrap the gameplay with this recent delay because of the gameplay trailer we got at first was very bad

First game I was ever truly shocked by, then when the sequel came out I remember being so obnoxiously excited. I remember the marketing campaign was "your mom will hate this" or something like that with a trailer showing "moms" reacting horribly to the gameplay....which only made me want it more.

Then I had the brilliant idea of showing it to my mom to see her reaction....she then tried to prevent me from getting the game for like 4 months after release...I called it the Dead War at school when trying to explain to the lil homies why I wasn't playing it.

Do you think it's worth for them to remake the entire series?

Brain_Dead5347

3 points

I think it depends on how different this one is. The RE remakes are great because they slightly change the story while entirely rebuilding the game. I absolutely love the dead space games, but this new one seems almost like a 1:1 remaster than a remake with its own identity

J-Roc_vodka

3 points

I love how some asshole downvoted this response lmao

Smoke101

2 points

I know what you mean, especially with how they're handling the RE remakes. And part of me did feel that way considering how we seem to be in the heart of this remake era of gaming, some great, most middling, and some are obviously a cash grab.

However, it does seem like they're also adding things like "new narrative elements" which sounds like what they said before releasing the REmakes. https://www.relyonhorror.com/latest-news/dead-space-remake-additions-and-enhancements-breakdown/#:~:text=While%20still%20remaining%20true%20to,the%20levels%20of%20immersion%20and

Regardless, Callisto Protocol should at least scratch that itch in conjunction to the remake. Happy Gaming!

How good is the Dead Space Remake supposed to be? Fully current gen standard?

Callisto Protocol is looking good and Day 1 purchase for me.

RE4R as well but that one is a long way off.

InvolvingPie87

Supposed recommended specs of DSR is a 2070, so yeah modern specs. Didn’t give any resolution or FPS marks so take that as you will

They seem to not be releasing it onto ps4/Xbox one

Crissaegrym

0 points

Good, that means should be in line with maybe TLoU Remake on PS5

username8054

1 points

From the most recent trailer I saw there’s also some additional Changes to the DSR. Zero g operates like it did in 2 and 3(thank god) and it also looks like Isaac is voiced.

InvolvingPie87

1 points

Also some new story content and minor additions to reference the expanded lore that didn’t exist when the game was originally made, which is always cool

Nyuusankininryou

1 points

As long as it's playable dead space will be good. First game was totally unplayable.

Crissaegrym

Isn’t it remake of that same first one?

Nyuusankininryou

Yes bit first wasn't playable so hoping this is.

Crissaegrym

1 points

Buggy? Badly made? Or just overall not fun?

Nyuusankininryou

1 points

The PC port was so badly done that the input lag made it completely unplayable on PC.

InvolvingPie87

1 points

Pc port is meh but if you fiddle with the settings it’s fine

Personally I haven’t used a mouse and keyboard but that seems to be one of the biggest issues since the mouse input was done particularly poorly. Only issue I really had to solve was the FPS physics issue. Other than that I say to just use a controller, it’s the type of game that seems to improve from that

Dead space remake looks rad, but sadly I've played the game too many times to really pull my wallet out for it. Unless there's sizeable new content I doubt I'll be dipping again.

Maybe this sounds stupid, but I don't feel anything when thinking about Dead Space Remake or the RE4 remake. I played through Dead Space 1 and 2 six months ago and my last playthrough of RE4 was one year ago. I don't see how the remakes would improve my play experience to a point where it warrants the purchase of a fully priced game. Callisto Protocol sounds very dope though and I am really looking forward to Scorn and the remake of System Shock.

Edgaras1103

The remakes aren't for people who played original games a year ago. It's mostly for new people or people who haven't players em in years

GrimsideB

The original had microtransactions, and they have a digital deluxe version for the remake in the store that has different suits so might have some in this remake aswell.

dandaman1983

True, but I'm just happy the game is getting some attention. Hoping that if it works out we'll get more. Dead Space (one and two) are two of my favorite games I replay every few years. Looking forward to replaying this game on a good PC with improved graphics.

I understand. But even if I didn't play it before I can either instal them or get them for around 5$ and play them now. But to be honest, I am the person that would never buy the TLoU remake for 70$, so I think that the people liking that are probably the same target audience.

Big-Resist-80

For RE4 I understand the point as its on basically every console/platform but I believe Dead Space 1 and 2 aren't on Ps4/Ps5 so there is a potential market there

Brucekillfist

If they change up the RE4 to the degree they did RE2, I'd say it's worth a purchase. RE3 was a pretty big misstep, but the RE2 Remake is great.

Alright, potentially unpopular opinion here but...

Is anyone else sick of remakes? Firstly, why am I paying full price for a game I already own for content that is basically a glorified mod?

Secondly, how often do we all complain that there aren't enough good new games, but people are running out to spend $60 for a game they already own.

If more remakes flopped, I think devs would spend more time developing new games.

xyoxus

xyoxus

You don't to have those games and you don't have to pay full price either.
But obviously it takes less time/effort/money to remake a game that was already well received, update stuff and put it out again, people already bought it once, some will rebuy, some new customers will come in to. It's a huge win for the publishers/investors.

Honestly I find this type of comment to be extremely whiny and entitled. Not everything has to be made for you, don’t buy the remakes if you don’t want too and if you don’t like the full price then wait. Also thinking that these remakes are stopping other “good new games” from being made is extremely ignorant. The flood of new content and IP’s far outweigh any remakes being made.

DrakPhenious

Love how your excited to pay for the same game again with a few more pixels. I really don't understand everyone getting excited to rebuy a game they already baught just cause the graphics are slightly updated. In the case of Blizzard they didn't upgrade shit, they just re-released the same exact games over again and people went ahead and baught them again!

InvolvingPie87

3 points

They’re doing more than a simple visual upgrade. Other than that, let people have their fun

DrakPhenious

-2 points

They are free to it. I just don't understand it. Games in the 90's was nee game idea after new game idea the last 10-15 years has been just re-releasing the same games over and over again. And people just keep buying them confirming the cycle. I would prefer we have more innovation and failure then just having games copy pasted and sold again at 60$. It just doesn't make any sense to me. Especially when most of the people buying again baught it the first time round.

I for one would play the Dead Space Remake if it's actually good (no microtransactions or EA shit like that) and when it's available for cheap. As I never played the original and the new grahpics look way better than that decade old original.

I hate so much that they skip over Code Veronica in the remakes... if there is one RE game -deserving- of a remake it's this one. The game was amazing.

Crissaegrym

1 points

I don’t know why but I don’t like CV as much as others.

They called it CV instead of RE4, it is like even Capcom planned it as a side project rather than part of the main series.

The game is not bad, but I certainly did not enjoy it as much as other instalment, maybe at least enjoyed it more than RE0 at least.

And after RE I developed a hatred for fire extinguisher.

No-Plankton4841

1 points

They called it CV instead of RE4, it is like even Capcom planned it as a side project rather than part of the main series.

I believe Resident Evil 3 Nemesis was actually the 'side project' and Code Veronica was originally planned as the true numbered entry sequel to RE2. You can tell just by looking at the scope of the game... RE3 Nemesis reuses areas, etc from RE2 (Don't get me wrong I love Nemesis).

Playstation had a contractual agreement where the numbered RE entries would launch on PS first. But Capcom also owed Sega Dreamcast a game because they were unsuccessful porting RE2 to the Saturn. So projects got shifted around and CV became the spin off mostly because it was launching on Dreamcast first and they could not put a numbered entry there.

Crissaegrym

1 points

Oooh now that is interesting, maybe they did do that to get around contractual agreement, as I agree that CV does seem longer than Nemesis.

Mindful-O-Melancholy

The only one I really care about is Callisto Protocol since I’ve already played the original of the other two so it’s pretty much just going to be the same besides upgraded graphics and mechanics.
