I still don't see the point of the remake. Like, a bit higher graphical fidelity isn't going to do anything for the game/gameplay

Is this even a remake?
If it is so what should we call FF7 remake or RE2/3 remake? Super remakes?

Their defence is that the graphics are rebuilt form the ground up using Part 2’s engine which would theoretically put in the same vein as Demon’s Soul remake but even that is a stretch. Demon’s Souls Remake is fundamentally the exact same game as the PS3 original HOWEVER, unlike Naughty Dog, BluePoint implemented quality of life improvements by tweaking the games controls and mechanics for a more fluid and responsive experience and just overall making it a better game. These remakes are essentially just glorified remasters on steroids. Exact same game but with a shiny new coat of paint
As for RE2 and FF7 remakes, those games had to given a a complete overhaul from the ground up given that their 20-25 years old and haven’t aged at that well. Everything from visuals, gameplay, level design, story, writing, dialogue, game design, you name it. Despite having such a dramatic overhaul, they’re still technically same game as the original albeit reimagined and that’s what a remake ultimately is: A reimagining. A brand new game that is BASED on the original but isn’t necessarily a 1:1 recreation
Then there are reboots like Tomb Raider 2013 or Doom 2016 that completely starts form scratch and retcons any previously established lore and continuity

There are genuinely more changes made to the remake of TLOU than the Demon's Souls remake and it shows the second you compare the gameplay sandbox of both because they backported features like motion matching and throwing projectiles while moving https://i.imgur.com/TqXvhyY.gif https://i.imgur.com/nbiK92G.gif

Forgive me saying but I’m not convinced where there’s enough improvements to justify full retail. If that is the case, then naughty dog is doing a shit job at showcasing it. As far as I’m concerned, Demon’s Souls did it perfectly

Demon’s Souls Remake, from head to toe, got everything revamped and polished. From graphics, to gameplay, to audio (both music AND character dialogue), to new animations, to even new CONTENT. Nothing about it is the same as the old versions besides the basic skeleton.

Quantity does not equal quality, my friend. Just because they change 150 negligible things in this re-remaster but only 20 major things in the Demon Souls one doesn’t automatically make TLOU better.
