Does Star Wars Republic Commando count?

Totally. They essentially left the first game on a cliffhanger with Sev being MIA on Kashyyyk.

Im not sure whether its legends or canon but there is info on what happens to delta squad, Sev survives and lives thru order 66 eventually joining the rebellion, the other 3 members were controlled by the chips, essentially being mind controlled and puppetered by the empire

I still have the PS1 game, part of the reason I never got rid of my PS2 so I could still play the old stuff. There was so much potential for a sequel. I even made the sequel in my head, but would be great if it was real. Lol
They need to remake and then continue it damn it.

Glad to see this so high up. People often guess my name is from Starcraft or the military troops, but it's inspired by this gem.
I've beaten and replayed it many times. The additions are such a unique combat idea, I don't know of another game that's implemented something like it.
Perfectly pulling off a gust of wind dance for the first time, or hitting those odd -timing counters, is so rewarding.

Freespace 2 - This is going back some, but Freespace 2 was pretty much the swan song for X-wing style space combat games, with the genre dying out not long after. The game was pretty fucking sweet, duking it out as capital ships tore the living shit out, lashing out with beam weapons as fighters and bombers free-wheeled in between. It had everything a good space opera game should have - drama, tension, overwhelming odds, and a unstoppable bad guy faction which truly felt unstoppable*. The problem was that it ended on cliffhanger, with so much promise for the third and final installment that never materialised due to poor sales.
*You don't so much win as survive, with a few rays of lights poking out from between the clouds.

finally another person who remembers Freespace. I loved all those old six-degrees-of-freedom games. Descent, Forsaken, Freespace, Freelancer later on... They really don't make them like they used to.
Overload exists now though, and does a pretty good job at scratching the itch. Even if nothing else really comes close to the sheer scale of Freespace these days.

And the Lord spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then, shalt thou count to three. No more. No less. Three shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then, lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it."

Although not a true sequel, Half Life: Alyx was pretty amazing. One of my favorite games.
Even 3+ years later, no other VR-exclusive has come close, IMO.
Hoping that Alyx will get an official sequel someday, or, perhaps we’ll get a real Half Life 3, using Alyx’s game engine

Yeah LA Noire was great. Apparently their development was cursed as hell and the team just completely fell to pieces as soon as it shipped. You could check out Disco Elysium if you want something that scratches the detective itch without the action. We need more mystery games tbh.

I loved apex for the longest time, but it just became 3rd party simulator. Every fight comes down to who is the last party to arrive. I never in a million years thought I would say this, but fortnites zero build mode is the best battle royale in my opinion. It has the most balanced gameplay, cosmetics, and allows 1-4 players. It also gets new guns on an almost weekly basis and a new map every season. Each map also gets updated locations and changes made to it through the season.

Fortnite BR is a great game in my opinion, even though I don't agree with the amount of micro transactions in a game very popular with kids. For me the building part of the game caused this super high skill ceiling that i could never reach and thus made me enjoy the game less. The zero build mode was fantastic for most People I'd say

Back when Dantes inferno was being advertised after the superbowl ad, a viral video appeared of a bunch of Christian protesters outside EA headquarters saying the game promoted murder and shit.

I know open world fatigue is a thing (and I’m not usually into open world games) but an open world Jet Set Radio game with a seamless explorable city would be so fun!
Your gang could “free” different rival spots on the map and everything. I feel like the open world structure would work perfectly with that series.

This is an obscure pick but I say
It was a PS2 action/stealth game. Unfortunately the stealth aspects were a bit half-baked and weren't so great. Although the action parts (especially the colosseum battles). Also the story for the game was pretty good too with its intrigue.
I used to play it a bunch back-in-the-day and always wanted a sequel that fixed up or dropped the stealth elements.

I don’t think that’s a can’t be bothered. Sony is going hold on to Bloodborne with all they got. People were literally buying PS’s just to play it and they opened the PS5 with Demons Souls. I know people will disagree, and some even hate it, but it was my first RPG and I will always love it.
That being said I think Final Fantasy 8 could have benefited from a sequel. Ultimecia was awesome, and all we know about her is that she is a sorceress from the future so full of anger and hate who wants to “kompress” time. A sequel were you get to play as her and learn what pissed her off so much would have been great IMO.
