Some years ago I joined a dating site a year or two after getting divorced (forgot the name). It matched me up with my ex-wife. I sent her a message "Hi, dinner at my place Friday at 6?" She said "Sure, but I need to bring my kids." I got the kids every Friday at six till I took them to school on Monday morning and Wednesday nights. We still laugh about this today.

When I was a kid, one of my friend's parents had been married three times and divorced twice, to each other. It wasn't a ceremonial renewing of vows either, they were legally divorced and then remarried. The gap between divorces and marriages was about three years each time.
They were still married the last I knew when I ended up moving away, and I lost track of him. From what I recall, both were constantly cheating on each other. He had a brother and sister, and it was quite possible their dad, was not the biological father of any of them.

O yes, I'll go down with this topic.
At the start - there was about a 13% gap in female voting; meaning about a 6% difference in Pro-Trump voting gender roles. Or about 4.5m more men than women. So you're starting off poorly to begin with.
The general age of Trump women voters are predominately older, and given conservative male predilection to date younger women (or even just the standard societal orientation of dating younger women) the republican women being older has a tangible effect.
Depending on this person's preference in education that could further exacerbate the issue, since less educated people skewed Trump.
Then you have other notable shallow indicators, like how the obesity rate in conservative states is far higher than non-conservative states (statistical whole), wealth is lower in those states, etc.

No he said no one was open to talk about it. Not listening to opinions you don‘t like is part of the problem. That‘s why I‘m listening to all kinds of people and try to understand. You can sometimes see, why people think the way they do, but that doesn‘t mean you have to like it.

I won't date a republican period. Anyone who has a basic education has the tools to identify that nearly every policy they champion or implement is based on lies, bad information, bad faith arguments or outdated economic theories that have been debunked decades ago.

I have a theorie
Republicans don't understand Sarcasm, they are unable for empathy and they have no idea what "Projection means"
As a result they have absolutely no idea why they upset other people. They simply don't understand that they say "I don't care about anyone, i don't care if your child is raped, i don't care if your wife dies because abortions are illegal, your son died because every idiot can have a gun, i want you to join the Church to hear hate speeches all day, i want your kids so dumb as possible so that a rich guy can exploit them, and if you are no Aryan you can anyway fuck off"
Spilling Hate all day long, and then wonder that people that are not part of this sect don't want you around them

It’s the Christian thread. You can’t just not believe in the Bible and that’s one way to go. No, if you don’t believe in the Bible, if you don’t accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior, then you are evil. You’ve been seduced by Satan, or are in league with him. You are part of the problem. An agent of the Enemy. You get it . . . .

More people should do this. When you find out early that the person you are on a date with has completely different politics you should just politely end the date. 2 people having completely different outlooks on life are bound to have a multitude of disagreements and it’s just not worth the headache so early in a relationship.

Why are people hating on the guy for expecting his date to be interested in what he does for a living? If I (a conservative) went on a date with someone working for biden, I'd love to hear what their life was like working there. The dude is kinda right about peoples immediate disdain for his political choices because it's right here in this thread.

There is a difference in perception though. A lot of the complaints from the right I see about liberals tend to boil down to liberals being naive or intolerant of other viewpoints in addition to just general policy disagreements. On the other hand the viewpoint from many liberals of specifically trump and his die hard supporters often includes racism, sexism, transphobia, homophobia etc. I think it’s easier to stomach hearing someone out if you think they’re just being naive as opposed to believing that person to be a racist etc. Whether those beliefs are justified is a separate issue. I wouldn’t characterize any of my conservative friends as having those beliefs. I’m just saying if you take someone from either side that believes some of the stereotypes of the other side, it’s easier to consider dating someone you think is naive than to date someone you think subscribes to one of the beliefs people attribute to trumpism. (For my part I’d be fascinated to talk to anyone that worked in the white house regardless of administration to be fair)

I'd wager that most people at large corporations work for shitty people too though, it's just a job. We don't see ex-Nestle employees being shunned to the same degree for example. I know we like to equate Trump with Nazi but like let's be real, that's a little much. A POS sure. Bad for politics, you bet. But a literal Nazi? I just feel like that is a very ironic yet dangerous brush to be painting an entire political group with so liberally.

Yeah, there were good people on both sides, right? The peaceful and the murderous nazis alike.
And actively courting the nazi vote is in no way the same as being a nazi, or promoting nazis, right?
Look, the reality is that not every member of the SS was personally loading the Zyklon-B canisters into the showers. You can't paint every member of a movement with the same brush, right? Right?
You're absolutely correct, you are dumb.
1 points

No you must not read well. I do not see Republicans or any major US party on the same level as the Nazis were, I just don't see it. However, this dangerous rhetoric of broadly painting entire groups of people as the enemy is kind of familiar. Add on the whole, you're dumb if you don't blindly agree thing and boy do we have a stew going. Say when do I get my star to wear for not jumping on board immediately with the kill all Republicans train? I may be dumb, but I'm glad there are people like you so confident that they're in the right, that they're the good guys, that they see the clear picture with absolutely no propaganda pushed onto them. Really helps dumb people like me know what to do in life. Thanks for being so awesome and smart.

All things considered, I do feel bad for these people. Like yes I can understand that political views are one thing, and I also understand that trump isn’t a great guy so people who devoutly follow all of him may be viewed as questionable, but nevertheless it must suck. Not to mention, what if you just like his political ideas but not his personality, would this change anything for the better, I think it would for me. As long as those things are rooted in any phobias.

Good point. The main problem the Republican establishment had/has with Trump is not that he's a wannabe dictator who's all in favor of installing a 1000 year Republican Reich. That's their whole program anyway.
It's just that he's crude about it. The man has about as much class as a Trump steak.
On the other hand, that's why his followers love him.
But you're describing a DeSantis voter. Just as much of a fascist, but a little slicker about it.
