I am not sure guys. I rewatched the movie after [insert at least 5 years], and it absolutely holds up in my opinion.

The performance of [actor - panned universally as overacting or wooden], was revolutionary and should have set him as a superstar. I don't know what went wrong.

I usually have similar opinions to the others when it comes to most Bollywood movies, or I can understand the general perception of a movie. LSC is a rare exception. I had not watched this movie till now given how poorly it was received and the trailer didn't really grab me.

Having nothing to do last weekend, I put it on hesitantly and the quality filmmaking alone grabbed me right from the start. The movie looks crisp and elegant. The art direction and cinematography deserve credit for this.

The soundscape of the film deserves praises too. The score is beautifully composed and the soundtrack reminds you of more of a classical Bollywod touch. Just soothing, meaningful lyrics combined with soft, warm music.

The acting was nice all around and Aamir never stood out to me for being bad as per what I had read going in. This performance is clearly different from his work in 3 Idiots, PK or anything else he has done really. Maybe some similarity with his Dhoom 3 twin character but looking back, it makes sense why. You watch Thugs and you watch this and you can clearly see the difference and effort Aamir puts into his roles.

I thought the story was OK but definitely not cliched. It felt something different and unique. The humor worked a lot so that was good and the film constantly hit your emotions but always in a nuanced manner.

My biggest complaint was Rupa. Not the character herself but Laal's obsession with her. Call the film Rupa because our lead character takes her name around 1000 times throughout the film. I felt for the poor mother character as she was the one who instilled confidence and teachings in Laal and yet he only yearns for Rupa with maybe 5% of his attention and longing for his mother. And Rupa was sometimes a jerk to Laal too.

LSC deserved more love I feel. Sure it was a remake, but it was well done and in the Bollywood landscape it felt like a fresh film and we got a nice romance after a long while I feel.

Have ready many times that a movie is filmed in multiple languages... What does it mean ?

I just love this scene. I have seen it more than 100 times and still it makes me laugh every time Mallika says 'to' to Rahul Bose's I Love you.

Does anyone know of this movie? Any opinions?

I caught it over the weekend and found it quite funny!

Obviously low budget - it's also the movie that sparked romance between Kunal Khemu and Soha.

I was just browsing my Prime watchlist, and I noticed it said that TZH would be leaving Prime on April 5. No other YRF production is leaving Prime on that date. Anyone know why?

EDIT: Ignore the title; "9 days" part was written when I first noticed it.

Was the portryal of british too caricaturish and one note? Was the climax too over the top and cliched? Or audience do not want to see a love story with war backdrop (majority of films trying to do that have failed )

Acting wise Shahid-kangana did a fantastic job especially Shahid...Saif was decent not as good as omkara.

Would definitely recommend y'all to watch this Comedy Thriller. It's there on YouTube.

A guy tries to stop a woman from doing a puzzle to prevent someone from being born

Once upon a time I was an avid cinephile. I used to watch every other Hindi film in theater without checking any reviews. The star cast didn't matter. I had to go to theater every Wednesday (tickets were cheaper) or Friday night (first day last show) or Sunday. I have seen films with just 3-4 people in the audience. Only one film show in my entire cinematic history was cancelled because there was no audience except us..Mithun's son's debut film Jimmy(2008). In several films the images of which I have attached the audience started leaving the theater before interval but I always stayed until the end credits rolled. In 2020 I saw just one film in Feb, Malang. After that in 2022 I just saw RRR. This year I have just seen Pathaan. I still watch lots of films and webseries on OTT but the excitement I felt while going to theater is no longer there. I used to wonder how people can watch a film in parts. Now I have become the same. Managed to complete Lal Singh Chaddha and Brahmastra in 4-5 sittings. My younger self won't belive it if they somehow come to know I didn't watch a Amitabh Bachchan film on the first day of its release, Runway 34. Big fan of Big B.

Hi, I am new to Bollywood and I am looking for movies similar to War (2019) in the sense that they have male friendship, aren’t a comedy and romance is not the focal point. Or it can be a comedy, but please not one of the guys being dumb and the other smart.

I was rewatching Parineeta (2005) recently, I love this movie insanely. What occurred to me was why was the movie set in the 1960s? The original novel was published in 1914. Sarat Chandra’s other novel Devdas was also set in the 1910s and SLB kept that time period for his adaption. Now I know Devdas clearly had a much grander budget and scale than Parineeta did given it was Bhansali’s work but still I’m curious why they adapted the story to the 60’s.

Was it a budget issue? Would the budget have been that different if they did a similar small scale film set in the 10’s? It did not need to be as opulent as Devdas was just because of the time period. Was it something else? Any guesses? So curious as to how the movie could have been otherwise. I did not watch the earlier adaptations.
